LEGO Dimensions voice cast has everyone

That's fantastic they got everybody. My favorite doctor and companion :3

Entry cost... too high... where's the digital edition, mother fucker?

is this game like disney infinity, where you need to buy other pieces to play their content in game?
Yes, except the worlds and figurines are all made out of actual Lego, and as expensive as you'd expect from said Lego.
It's glorious.

doesnt buying everything for this game cost over 800 dollars?

I will probably pick up the doctor who figures, but not the game

Edit: oh, appears to be less but still crazy price

Will Arnett Batman is in the game.
Did everybody forget the trailer that has regular Batman meet Arnett Batman from a few months back?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkjJgrd-ypM

The thing apart from the price that irks me about this game is the fact that when you take away all the fun licenses it's just the same old Lego gameplay.

Thank you! I was starting to second guess myself in this thread because I loved that scene in the trailer but between the video not showing Arnett and everyone here complaining about it I thought I was taking crazy pills!

Wow, that certainly is an impressive cast.

If they don't put in dialogue featuring the Doctor meeting Doc Brown, I will be very disappointed.

I'm already sick of price talk on this game and it isn't even out yet.

I'm using Gamer's Club to get my stuff, because doing otherwise is idiotic.
Base Game - $80
BTTF - $24
Portal 2 - $24
Scooby Doo $20
Jurassic World $20
Simpsons $24
Wizard of Oz $12

Total $204

You don't have to get everything. I'm skipping franchises I don't care about (Ninjago, Chima, LOTR)

Yeah, I'm passing on this because of how expensive it is and the whole concept behind this rubs me the wrong way because it's a Lego game.

People act like you have to buy every single pack they release for this, just buy the sets you really like and add to it as and when you can afford to.

Believe it or not you don't have to own every single pack on day 1.

LEGO Dimensions is one week from today.

Is anyone planning on making an OT?

My launch day plans are pretty modest but I could ramp it up if some really good launch day sales start to get announced:
Base game (PS4)
BttF level pack
Portal level pack
Simpsons level pack
Wicked Witch set

I'd like to pick up more, just waiting and hoping for some "buy 2 get 1 free" or somesuch sales like what we get with most Toys to Life games

The voices in the trailer sounded under-produced and varying in quality (sound-wise). Is this how voices sound typically in the Lego games?

Maybe I missed it so forgive me if this was already answered but since they have the Ghost Busters in here does that mean they got Bill Murry, Dan Akroid and Ernie Hudson in this?
Obviously they wouldnt be able to get Harold Ramis, but it would be pretty awesome if they got the rest of the cast in for this.

Really interested to see what they quality of this turns out to be, my daughter is interested in this and Disney Infinity 2 but thankfully I still have a few months till chirstmas rolls around.

The news is cool and all, but doesn't make up for the fact that the game is way overpriced.
Compared to what? It's pricing is basically the same as any other game in the toy to life genre, and arguably gives you better value since they're Legos and not static figurines (plus you get a lot more in-game than just a new playable character)

I feel like I always see people make these claims and it's like

Do you expect them to make toys that interact with games and pass them out for free? Stuff costs money to produce and license and develop and test yall

Just saw the game wont release in Spain.
lol

Probably they dont want to dub the characters, and they know they need to get some of the original spanish actors, and some are in different dub studios, so I suppose they said, fuck it.
As the target of the game is children, they want the game to be dubbed. They already did a great job with all the cameos in the Lego Movie, that means they can accomplish it but they probably think the game will sell 0 copies here. And im not surprised, their conversion is probably 1 dollar to 1 euro, or worse, and 200 euros is expensive as hell.

So I know you get new levels with the level packs but do we know yet if you need to have specific pieces on all the time too play that level like Infinity's playsets or does it "unlock" in the world once you place a piece down?

Anyone else snagging this? I'm going in at least with a starter pack. With GCU it helps justify some of the risk on the price.

Here's a link to Kinda Funny's stream of the first hour or so. Lots of cool gameplay, especially the detail in the Back to the Future adventure world.

This scene makes no sense

All, I'm confused about something. I know that when you buy a level pack you get not only the character and vehicle but also access to a new 'adventure world.'

But I also am hearing that outside of those packs, you still need at least 1 character from a given theme to access certain content from that theme.

So for example you need at least one chima character and one ninjago character to access certain theme-specific content (stages? levels?) even though those two properties do not have their own 'level pack' nor are either theme represented as characters from the starter (dc universe, lego movie and lord of the rings)

Can anyone clarify this for me, how does it work exactly? Basically I want to be able to access as much of the game as possible but without buying EVERY figure, i'm trying to come up with the best strategy to do that.
