I know the GC opens one day earlier for press and professionals, but I can't figure out when exactly is this press-only day (info is vague on the website). Is it 22 or 23? Are there any conferences before this?

It starts offically on thursday and press day is on 22. I went there last year on press day and the business center is where the action is. (A lot of playable games in publisher booths) Then there is the Games Convention Developer Conference two days prior and a game music concert with famous game componists live on 20. or 21, not sure.

I'll be there the 22nd, was pretty good last year but we went kind of last-minute so I'm a little bit more prepared this year.

Sure, I myself can't stand the large crowds. Let alone be able to focus on playing a game with a line of people waiting for their turn. So if you're a bit like me and just want to see what's new instead of actually playing it over there, you've probably seen everything in a day or so.

well, 23-36 will be totally crowded. Last year was a pain and this GC seems to top it.
