Lengthy games with great replay value

I've been replaying Majora's Mask recently, and it just dawned upon me how strangely replayable this game is. Every time I've played it I constantly use the Song of Reverse Time while I play to alleviate the stress of the time constraints. This time, however, I've decided that I'm going to use all my knowledge of the game that I currently have and try to beat it without using the song once. With this restriction in mind, I've found that I'm playing the game almost entirely differently. I try to get as much stuff done as possible in one sitting, and I'm always on the move. I think about everything currently possible given whatever items and abilities I have at my hands while I play, which makes for a fun challenge of memory, reflexes, and endurance. It's much more replayable than most other Zeldas without a Master Quest or Hero Mode because of all the possibilities that the time constraints make for the player, making for a game that's fun no matter how many times you play it because every time you'll remember something different at certain times, making you map out the fastest route to each mini-game, side quest, dungeon, etc.

Anyone else find games in a series or genre that wouldn't traditionally be replayable, well, replayable?

Metal Gear Solid 2/3/4. You can choose to play them lethal/non-lethal and use/not use weapons.

...and just screw around using the AI and unorthodox techniques as a playground, approaching everything from every possible angle. It takes me a looooooong time to get tired of an MGS game.

Super Smash Bros Brawl

I put 400 hours into it. At $50 that's 1/8 of a penny per hour and I still play it regularly. Although that will probably stop when Smash 4 releases.

I haven't beaten it yet, but Wolfenstein: The New Order.

I've played for probably around 12 hours or so and I have a couple levels left. Not only is it long but it also has:

-Two timelines (I'm not sure what they change, but I'm assuming some story/character stuff and a couple minor gameplay tweaks)
-A bunch of perks to unlock
-A bunch of hidden collectables to find
-Extra modes and difficulties

Uncharted 2 is pretty damn long for a TPS, but it's paced so well and it's so fun. I've played through it three or four times.

Yeah, the Uncharted games are like that favorite summer action movie you just have to watch every time it comes on tv. I've beaten Drake's Fortune like 8 or 9 times, Among Thieves 6 or 7, and unfortunately my PS3 died on my 3rd play-through of Drake's Deception.

Souls games man... never get tired of playing them.

STALKER games are hugely replayable because of the unpredictable AI.

souls games got mentioned twice already (you can spend about as much time as you like in those, thanks to the multiplayer, different covenants, etc)

so I'll go ahead and mention

dragons-dogma-dark-arisen-18591-1920x1200.jpg

There's an assload of content in this one, and the combat is quite fun. Different classes to play as, Pawns to create and trade back and forth, and Dark Arisen has that ridiculous dungeon. you'll be good for months.

Persona 4's the kind of game that you beat, and you immediately want to replay because you really don't want it to be over.

Peace Walker has stupid amounts of content. Been playing a lot of it lately.

*finishes main story*

Damn,that was satisfying.

*Another 10 hours of post-campaign content*

What.

*Game adds challenges and different mechanics to revisit previous missions in totally different ways*

Sthap, PW,Staph.

*That island Unlocks*

Oh Kojima you so crazy.

Vagrant Story... new game+, the continual stat bonus rool, and perfectly crafted Damascus weapons to work towards for an ungodly amount of time

other Square games that nailed it with new game+ and extra content are obviously Chrono Trigger, Cross & Parasite Eve. You could play CT through many times off sheer enjoyment, but also to chase things like full rainbow gear

Resident Evil 2's 4 scenarios + ranking system + Tofu/Hunk unlockables, though you can speedrun it pretty quickly... it's a decent length

Xenoblade.

Okami.

Final Fantasy X and XII.

Infamous 2.

Persona 3 and 4.

Heavy Rain.

All great games, with good length and replay value.

This is why every RPG needs New Game+

I love revisiting a game to enjoy the story without having to worry about getting my butt kicked a second time.

ah, was almost the first person to vote Okami! fuck those who knock its pacing.

RE4 is a given, i guess SOTN is too short to count.
