This dude's posts in threads about the migrant crisis make a lot more sense now that it's become clear functioning ecosystems give him a bad feel because lifeforms die.

Leopard be like "no fucks given brah, still coming for you".

This is a jaguar guys... that is not a leopard.

Look at the large rosettes. And it's stocky build. Definitely a jaguar.

At 0:17, the leopard is hit in the butt with the tranquilizer dart by the guy holding the rifle on the other side of the fence. The leopard turns around and takes it out on the closest guy, who winds up with the ripped pants in the OP.

Edit: at 0:03 it actually disarms someone who was holding a rifle as well. Had to rewatch a few times before I noticed what that object was.

Even so, India has done a good job maintaining their population of Bengal Tigers. Tigers were on the brink of extinction a few years ago, pretty sad.

I have a book from the early 90s by Valmik Thapar called "The Tiger's Destiny," warning of the imminent extinction of tigers. I am glad that has not come to pass. Tigers are still not out of the woods yet. There is said to be around 2,000 tigers left in India, but there's massive uncertainty around that figure. Even if that is an accurate count, there are probably more than twice that many tigers living in backyards of people's homes in the United States (around 5,000), which is a frightening thought.

Yep yep. Jaguars (and tigers) love swimming. Lions and leopards can swim, but they generally prefer to avoid it!

That's a weird way to end your article about a leopard mauling people at a school.

Well, I guess they weren't lying:

Poor guy. I'll admit I laugh when my cats have something like this happen to them.

You feel bad about the Leopard, but what about their prey?

Sorry, but predators are monstrosities, barely better than diseases like Ebola. They should be removed from the wilderness and put into contained areas where they can't hurt other lifeforms. We have the means/technology to control nature, so that we can have a stable ecosystem without cruelty. We don't need predators to roam the wilderness.

Surely this is sarcasm.

Please?

Pardon me but what is the fudging difference?

Jaguar = Panthera Onca
Leopard = Panther Pardus

Jaguars are the third largest cat, where as the leopard is the fifth largest. The former gets up to 250-275lbs easy and are largest in the Pantanal region in Brazil where they can be as legit large as a lioness. Leopards only get up to 150lbs, with the odd male reaching upward to 200lbs.

Biggest difference, leopards are in Africa and Asia, Jags are in Central and South America (making a comeback to southern US too finally!).

Jags are huge and stocky. Leopards are not nearly as built. Leopard have smaller rosettes and spots. Jags have thick rosettes.

tldr: They're totally different cats.

What an idiotic thing to say.

Man I get the feeling some predator did some fucked up to shit to you bro. Are you sure the revenant isn't based on you ?

No, we don't need to. Like I said, we have the technology to do it differently. Of course society right now has no intention to spend money on such projects. But we could do it, and I think we should do it.

Also, I don't give a damn about "nature". Nature is a chaotic and cruel mess, greatly romanticised by many people. We should control it as much as possible.

Uh what? I don't deny that the ecosystem has a "balance". What I am saying is, that I think some of the elements of this ecosystem are cruel, and that we can remove those elements and replace them with other procedures.

Humans are the cruelest creature of them all. What's your answer for them?

Not to mention that jaguars are generally more aggressive (lack of natural predators besides humans) and have the strongest bite of any big cat.

Pound for pound, yeah, jaguar is the strongest cat. It's bite isn't as strong as a tiger's but if the jag was the size of a tiger, its bite would be FAR stronger.
Spotted hyena has more powerful bite than both at respective sizes - ~1100psi - good lord...

Yes, so then we have to take on that role and go through culling the other populations constantly so they don't overpopulate and starve themselves out.

Predators are part of nature's checks and balances. The only issue is humanity interfering.

Are you serious? Do you even know how natural eco systems work? The natural world is not based on abstract moral systems.

edit: must be a joke post, I got got.
