Let's share our physical collections

I'm actually not organized at all compared to other posters lol.

I'm just ADHD as hell when it comes to keeping my games in chronological orders. Other Gaf users have their shit set up better than the New York Public Library.
I'm more ADHD about having it in alphabetical order. When a collection is that big, I feel like it's gotta have some order otherwise how are you supposed to find something lol

Although my system falls apart when developers try to get cute and try to name a sequel something completely different.

after looking at these OCD shelves... live reaction if I shared my absolute chaos of a collection:

Your collection is very impressive.

I hear you about sequel names. I think the biggest hurdle was different generations having different box sizes.

I tried putting all of my Xbox games together and the fucking boxes are different sizes for each generation where the original Xbox game boxes are bigger than the Series X ones, and the PS1 games come in much smaller cases, so they look completely weird compared to PS2-PS5 boxes lol. It can also get a little weird for the "Platinum Hits" where the silver stands out against a sea of green.

Been gaming for decades, my collections end up been heavily curated to my gaming taste as it developed over the decades, becausse i love games & don't treat them as cheap disposable entertainment i kept everything because i go back & replay stuff all the time. Well i would if my gaming room was actually finished so i could unbox and transplant all my stuff from the move. These pics are mainly from a long while back in my other place before i moved. Everything is complete and boxed and 90% of it all is in pristine condition as i took great care of it all probably what makes some of it really rare now like the gamecube stuff you'd REALLY struggle to find certain japanese titles that aren't in utter dogshit condition due to the fragile cardboard sleeves.

This is most of my beloved PS1 collection, there's ttitles i have added since i took these but it's most of it. I love rhythm & shmups as well as really weird games i have always had the same gaming tastes as japanese gamers as i have been importing since i was 13 in the gameboy era i got to see these machines from a Japanese perspective.

The most recent thing i added to the PS1 collection was the full sized arcade controller so i could finally enjoy pop'n music how it's meant to be played. I have a smaller controller for it but it's not quite the same.

My N64 stuff, pretty much have everything i wanted from the Jpn side although the 3rd party support wasn't the greatest compared to other consoles like PS1 although it did have some good stuff hidden away.

Next up gamecube, people loved to shit on it back in the day. I fucking loved that tiny thing the library was a lot of fun. Just a shame the boxes would fall apart if you so much as looked at them funny thankfully some wonderful person finally made box protectors for japanese cube games so i could finally keep them safe.

Last part lol

All the DS, one collection i'm extremely knowedgeable about i tracked down an obscene amount of super obscure games/software for this system. Almost up there with the PS1 for weird experimental games.

Also have a few things nintendo wouldn't be exactly happy about lol. Been able to play DS on 2 tv screens at once is awesome at some point i'm getting a 2 monitor wall mounted setup to make it a jumbotron DS

Also have a single screen DS hmm make that a SS that i repurposed into a download station to go with my complete retail set of download carts. They may have cclosed the service decades ago but i can still run it from my house.

Have a bunch more libraries like X360/P54/Switch/Wii/3DS but i'll leave it there as i end up hijacking the thread with way too many pics.

Adopt me...

N64DD has been one of my holy grails since the early 2000s.

Very cool project! I'll have to add that to my list... I've done full backlight/bivert mod for DMG game boy, reflash and hack of the Game & Watch Mario system, homebrew on nearly every Nintendo system I own (GB/GBC flashcart, GBA flashcart, several DSi/3DS hacked, Wii/U hacked, and so on) but I've never considered building a download station, great idea.

Pokemon mini is also such a cool item to own, amazing collection.
