Let's share our Playstation game saves

Since the PS3 now allows to save game saves on memory sticks, I was wondering if anyone know a good site where I could download game saves. I would like to have DDR Extreme 2, since I don't plan on unlocking all songs, and wanted them right away. So let's all share the love!

GameFAQs offers various save files. They have a good selection of Wii ones and probably PS2/PS3.

These are in the max format, which was a tool to transfer saves, not the native PS format.

Those save files are only good for Action Replay, etc. devices for PS2. PS3 uses a weird file for PS2 saves (saved as a PSV extension). Unless there's some tool out there that can convert legacy PS2 saves to PS3's PSV extension, those gamefaqs saves are useless

I also want to know if there's a program out there to convert those save files so I dont have to get a $15 memory card adapter

There is no "native" format, it's just a folder with files in it. You won't be able to find those on the net. What you could do is grab a utility to uncompress and extract those GameFAQ files and do what you want with them.

Even if you extract those game saves, you can't do anything with it. I've tried.

I extracted a couple saves from my memory card (SotC, DQ8) and copied them to a USB drive. I tried putting them in folders and it didnt work. Even tried to put it in a PS3 folder that's created when you copy PS2 saves from your PS3 to a usb thumb drive.

I remember there was a site doing this for psp saves, I wonder if they will do the same for ps3 saves?

But it works for genuine PS2 game saves right? Like the PSP? I didn't try it for the PS3 yet.

The only PS2 game saves you can transfer to your PS3 are files that are saved as a PSV file. If it's anything other than that, you won't be able to use those PS2 saves for PS3.

But yes, if you have genuine PS2 game saves (converted for PS3 use), you can use them.

So, you have DDR and finished it? :D ...

Someone already created an PSV extractor, but apparently the files are carry a digital signature so you won't be able to repackage saves and transfer them back to the PS3 unless they're signed.

Unfortunately, I don't...and if I had the PS3 memory card adapter, I could have helped you :|

So if you have a USB -> PS2 adapter then you can just transfer over those saves to the PS2 memory card then use the PS2 -> PS3 adapter?

PS2 usb memory card adapters are out there right? Might need to look around into purchasing one (if they exist).
