Just goes to show that the PS4 is the weaker contender this gen. It's sad that Xbox is using new tech such as the patchable/hidden 2nd GPU and new cloud tech like downloadable RAM to support dedicated startup tech for the consumer.

OT: The "beep" PS4 start-up noise is only outmatched by the Gamecube start-up jingle.

That's definitely not a start-up sound. A start-up sound should be like this:

- Enable console
- Hear hardware beep sound
- PlayStation logo pops-up + *INSERT START-UP SOUND HERE*
- PlayStation logo still visible
- PlayStation menu shows up

It's definitely missing that start-up sound.

Yup. I don't miss it at all. Plus, as others have said there's the cheap-sounding beep and the way the plastic creaks and the drive spins up if there's a disc in. Plenty of startup sounds, really.
