Still Alive
So this thing has been blowing up over the past twenty four hours in the wake of the news story about a teacher being arrested after anonymously posting pics of his underage female students on reddit without their knowledge; http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/19650823/teacher-allegedly-posts-pictures-of-students-on-site Turns out someone recognized one of their classmates and figured out who the teacher was and got him arrested.

But what was brought to light with this whole thing is the 'creepshots' subforum on reddit. If I was a woman, I would be pretty paranoid right about now. I had no idea this was a thing or was even allowed on such a prominent community like that. What it basically is, is a forum where people post pics they've stealthily taken of random hot women they encounter in their daily lives. Examples;

etc etc, they're endless

And perhaps to give you a sense of the type of guys doing this kind of thing...

This so creepy, it irks me out how it can be legal. I know it's in a public setting, but just knowing that as you're shopping, or working out, or doing whatever wherever, there could be someone secretly photographing you, is creepy as fuck. That one guy only got caught because he was a teacher and photographing a minor, but who's the hell can tell which of the uploaded pics are of underage girls or not?

What if you found a pic of yourself, or a friend, or hell, your own girlfriend, on one of these sites. This seems to be a 'thing' now, and i'm surprised reddit even allows it tbh.

One of those days where you feel lucky to be a guy and all that. :\

4 for $5 that delicious candy

Where?

I'm not talking about that ass candy either... Kit Kat + Hershey Almonds Ho!

I was about to say its creepy but harmless but yeah if I saw someone doing that to a family member or friend words would be spoken.

I think this is one of those meganiche things that only becomes truly shocking when you see it in such concentration. There are awful terrible maladjusted starved people everywhere, and they all have cameras.

There's really nothing that could possibly be done about it unless people report suspicious activity but everyone has a camera on their phone these days.

Women wear tight pants so good looking men will notice their butts.

But ugly men noticing and men in general taking pictures of that is rude I guess.

Photography is not a crime.

In public photography is fair game within decency, and places where there isn't an expectation of privacy.
Still, when it's kind of done surreptitiously like this it's not hard to see why it's unsettling.

But I guess politeness would dictate that you be upfront about it when you can. Street photography is about candidness, however.

The lines are so thin.

The hypocrisy of it all gets plainly noticed when people don't like it happening to their relatives or SOs.

I have a feeling that when you find yourself taking a picture of a womans ass while she's working out, without her consent of course, you've crossed some line.

One of the unintentional effects of the proliferation of cheap cameras. I figure this sort of thing is the reason why a lot of devices play a fake shutter click sound clip when a picture is taken.

But yeah, at least these dudes know they're creeps, I guess.

Fucking winner winner chicken dinner

If you don't want people staring, ditch the yoga pants/leggings/tight jeans. Women are such hippo crits. They wear very revealing body conforming clothing to attract attention, then complain when they get it. I'm considering turning gay, that's how aggravating they are

It's shitty and perverted. There is a huge swath of women who model, why take such shots?

Because it's not about the women being hot, it's about the appeal of them not knowing you're looking. Porn didn't kill voyeurism because they're two separate things.

As far as it being creepy, sure I can see that. But even if most guys may not take photos like this I'm sure a lot more of that stems from fear of getting caught then because of a moral dilemma.

Women don't wear those clothes solely to attract the attention of the opposite sex. Is it really so wrong to just enjoy that kind of clothing without the worry of people acting creepy over it?

If it was me or my partner i'd consider it a compliment really. Gotta say though you must feel pretty low taking an ass shot of someone pushing a wheelchair :/.

Because they are real women and they are your shots. They'll get a lot of attention in certain online communities. It's the price society pays for cellphone cameras.

Right so it's perverted and all about how she didn't consent.

Certainly.

I mean, it's all well and good to say, 'photography is allowed in public', but that doesn't mean you can run up to someone and photograph down their top or something.

There is a line.

But certainly it's not clear cut. Like, really, what's the difference between taking a photo of some one random, vs, someone ugly, vs someone beautiful?

If it's someone's beautiful, you're a creep. If it's someone ugly, you're a dick. And someone normal is...art?

I assume these guys get a sort of high off of doing something obviously violating, like how someone who would get turned on more if they're cheating or something.

Photography is not a crime.

But just look at how fucking close these guys can get;

It's disgusting tbh, especially because there's no real need. Just stare if you must, why the photography? The word creepy cannot be overstated enough.

Haha this is hilariously wrong.

I think this is the key point. The reason for the shot is what makes it kinda creepy.

I wonder how many butts I looked at today. Sometimes I like tiny little butts that could be plucked like a cherry, butts are about density.

You seem awfully invested in this, and you've posted a large number of these pictures that were taken without the women's consent.

Is there something you want to tell us, Sentry?

Those damn hippos! The lot of them!

This has been a 'thing' for a couple of years now.

There are whole forums that love these kind of pictures heck there is a forum where guys talk and show even more dodgy stuff like filming women in changing rooms.

Don't quite see the appeal myself as it's pretty sleazy.

Complains about creeper shots

Posts lots of creeper shots.

That gym one is odd, surely someone would have noticed, especially her, since he'd literally have to be standing there behind her and carefully aiming the shot to get it that clear. At least the other ones are somewhat blurred and from a distance, but that one is REALLY close.

I have to wonder how many are taken and posted by boyfriends as well.

*glances over at Post a Picture of Your SO Thread*

Things like this make me extremely uncomfortable.

The non-consent angle of it is clearly a plus for some of them. And that guy is a pedophile.

I've heard the internet can be creepy, but Reddit is weird in that a decent portion of it seems relatively innocent yet there's a big chunk of it that's very creepy. I guess it's like the rest of the internet.

Well that's what happens when any popular website decides not to censor its users unless laws have been broken.

Please be a joke post.

I'm at a doctors waiting room, laughing at hippos vs creeps. This thread is gold.

Seriously, I find the abundance of cameras disconcerting. A tourist took a photo of me in a bathrobe at our balcony the other day from the street. Shameless.
