I knew it was coming at the end of Season 1... because it referred to itself as Season 1 lol

Just because they are currently calling it Life is Strange 2 doesn't mean it's a direct sequel. They were probably calling LiS "Remember Me 2" during initial planning and development.they should do a wholly different power and also a different setting/age of cast
in fact they shouldn't even make a life is strange 2 and just work on something else. this is silly, i loved the game but god damn a sequel?!!
Ah yes, good point. I guess the PC version didn't change anything in terms of sales because we never heard about it again. So did D4, but that isn't going to get any more seasons due to its poor sales.

Best possible news to wake up to. Finished Season 1 the other day and it might edge out Bloodborne as my GOTY.
Will miss Arcadia Bay and its inhabitants, but I'm interested to see what they do with a new cast and setting. Do we think they'll stick with the "teenager gets weird superpower" plot? I loved the time travel mechanics but might actually prefer if they try something different this time. Precognition (without the rewind safety net) or telepathy, maybe?
And Episode 5 was great.
I'm sorry if it sounded like that, didn't mean to. Just trying to create a discussion on what they could provide in a sequel, not assuming anything.A new character with new powers I'd be fine with, But mp1990 posted as if DONTNOD had confirmed it was a new character with time-traveling powers.
They should call the sequel Life is Hella Strange
How easy would it be to make something up and still have season 2 be with Chloe and Max,in spite of whatever happened in Season 1...being careful here because this isnt a spoiler thread but I think its a shame to never see this great duo again,c'mon DontNod,do it...
Still on board though for sure with Season 2,hopefully they create a whole cast of awesome new characters.
One thing I really hope they do is ditch the episodic format.
Just release the game and let us play, instead of making us wait 9 months to get a complete game.
Maybe now they have the budget to make a good story... and get basic "features" right like LIP-SYNCING. lol I hope it's not anything like 1.

You can have that one for free DONTNOD.
The only issue might be if he can write something set in America convincingly? Many people already remarked some of the dialogue sounded very "French". I'm pretty sure the lead writer was American though, so idk if the problematic bits came from Damasio or not.Well, if Damasio is this time lead writer, and not only script consultant, I can tell you he's WAY MORE than decent... Well, he's a novelist, so he might make a bad video game writer, as he said himself in the Utopiales 2015 about Video Games and their ability to convey a message "Novelist make for pretty bad screenwriters" ("Les romanciers font souvent de mauvais scénaristes").
So yeah, if Damasio is Lead Writer, it should be more than fine.

I don't think this will happen. Episodic content has probably been great for them sales wise and it keeps the player engaged with the game for nine months instead of being a one and done experience.
after episode 5... eh, would have preferred to see them work on another new IP after vampyr.
I'm glad they found success. I hated their first game, Remember Me, it felt like they were taking their interactive storytelling ambitions and stuffing them into expensive AAA game mold that wasn't very good, and didn't suit their needs. The Life is Strange model is a lot cheaper, and a more accessible structure for the kind of games they want to make.
Thanks, that sounds good. USA as a default setting is indeed getting a bit stale, but it obviously reaches a wider audience and in most cases sells better too (Cage said so as well thus he sets his games there). Unfortunate, but oh well.Damasio didn't write the dialogue in the first season, and yes, the lead writer was American. The dialogue didn't sound French at all, it just sounded off.
And I wouldn't mind in LiS 2 wasn't set in America, to be honest. I wouldn't mind a French original version.
Damasio is good in both style and content, so, if a good translator can recreate his style in English, keeping the content, we'll have a very good story.
Its time her story got told.

But they've already been working on season 2 unless they've announced that they've abandoned it recently.
I'm super excited for Life is Strange 2. Finished 1 last night and it might end up being my GOTY. Like others have said, the series becoming an anthology would be a great direction.
I'd like to see a new setting with new characters but I have a gut feeling we may be getting a (Season 1 spoilers)Rachel Amber season. The way she's referred to by others is almost mythical and makes me think she too had some sort of power.
