Liquidators hoarding potentially thousands of NES Classic & Switch units

Not only that but I appreciate having an NES I can hook up to my TV with an HD cable. The only other options would be to spend 5 times as much to buy a Wii U, or play in SD.

I don't know how many people care about that, it's still gonna look like an NES game it's not like it magically makes the games have nicer graphics, but I would prefer a clean 8-Bit ala Shovel Knight over a fuzzy 8-Bit.

Could someone explain to me what the controversy is?

If liquidators are involved, that means a reseller has declared bankruptcy and the liquidators are just selling what remaining assets there are to pay off creditors. What am I missing here?

Nothing. This is just a fresh angle for people that are increasingly desperate for the NES Classic.

Yep. Everyone keeps trying to make it out like this is anyone else's fault BUT nintendo.

If you're even aware of pirating or VC or the Wii U itself for that matter, you aren't the audience for the NES Classic.

And you save money by buying an NES Classic (at MSRP) compared to buying all those games individually, whether it's on VC or the original cart versions.

Well, to be fair, I happened to buy all of the NES games I wanted on the VC a while back. Again, I love me some classic NES gaming, but it's usually in small, spaced apart doses. Maybe they could have packed in some arcade ports like Donkey Kong, Popeye, or Excite Bike.

What's the appeal of an NES classic over downloading them onto the WII U, buying their original cart versions, or even pirating them if cost is the issue? I loved retro gaming, but if I can simply download them onto my Switch or WII U, what's the point?

I would never buy the NES classic as it is, but if it allowed to interface with Nintendo's online store to purchase downloadable games from their back library, I would definitely be more in.
I picked up a NES Classic from the Amazon Treasure Truck and I am really not impressed. The audio sync is all off, and everything sounds thin. I’ve never used a retropie but I’m willing to bet you’re better off with it.

I guess "liquidators" are just the perfect dummy companies doing all the dirty job for/under specific order of the major retailers: those should be blamed, and sued if possible, for that behaviour
