My grandfathers fought as Marine Rifleman in the Pacific. I will never fully appreciate everything their generation had to go through, but my respect for them grew as I read through the book.
 
Found this is my dads office when I was a kid. Turned me into a book nut.

Age 19 or so: Basically not to take things too seriously, order is boring, conspiracy theories are only fun if you don't believe them, and reading can be really fucking complicated.
 
^Good choice unfortunately I read the PD way before I! so it didn't really blow my mind that much aside from the fact that John Dillinger could be in a book with a Nazi army underneath a lake named death's head that played host to an outdoor music festival headlined by an evil rock and roll band named after a medical association.
