Little Rumor: Syphon Filter for PS3?! :-)

They looked pretty dead to me.

I think the only way they could bring them all back is to say they all faked their deaths so they could go deep black (maybe to clear moles out of the agency or something) which would be interesting. Otherwise, I'm guessing this would be a prequel or a complete reboot.

Teresa already did this in SF3.

That being said, I loved Dark Mirror and have yet to play Logan's Shadow, but I feel like they left something out that made me enjoy the originals so much more. Maybe it was the feeling of consistent characters throughout the series.

Gabe, Lian, Teresa, Lawrence, Mara and Elsa were characters I always looked forward to seeing in the games and seeing how things had progressed. Then you had some pretty awesome support cast like Gregorov and the awesome stalking mission through the streets of snowy russia (and the chase in the nightclub before it). Or even the stalking of Phagan through his museum.

I just wish we'd return to that. There was so much brilliant atmosphere in those games.

I do agree that the old games were excellent and had some really great scenarios (such as the part where you had to kill 2 guards with one sniper shot on that bridge). But the PSP games do deserve praise.

The taser was alive and well in Dark Mirror. They completely wimped it out in LS for the Teen rating, though. :(

looks like a legit company, but they've also worked on some games that have never seen the light of day (X-Files Online :lol.) So unless the project gets canceled it would seem pretty much confirmed at this point.

Perhaps an announcement at E3 this year.
 
YES!!!! I know SONY Bend isn't a big studio... so I hope SF5 will be a BIG title like Heavy Rain, Uncharted, Resistance 2 etc. with good graphic-power behind it and more extra tech-stuff :-/

Well apart from all that shiny stuff you'd have to hope they'd do the series justice. I always remain hopeful!

Sharing tech between 1st and 2nd party studios is great and from what SSM said about Sony's head honchos supporting their bid for more staff for the GoWIII project I'm even more hopeful.

Hope we hear something more substantive soon. :)

There's no way that Gabe is dead. The team, it's a complete tossup. They could go either way with it.

It also says they are working on the PS2/360 version of Red Steel... Was such a thing even announced or is that leaked too?

Yep, it also lists Disgaea 3 and Prinny as PS2 games =P
 
I want to see this game with the Uncharted 2 engine. :D :D :D :D :D :D
Why has no one suggested this? Bend could use the Uncharted engine, and add even more bells and whistles and get it out in time for 2010.

You guys can hate all you want, but Syphon Filter + the Uncharted Engine + Co-op + stealth + cover system + a modern warfare setting = the Playstation Demograph. This series has so much potential if marketed properly, including not only videogames, but film. This series is in need of a reboot so bad for this era.



It is almost sickening to think of the huge amount of IPs / devs Sony owns. Time to crack the whip and get things moving.
