LittleBigPlanet 3 will release for PS4 & PS3

No complaints, glad to see both generations of PS users will be able to enjoy this awesome game. PS4 version for me tho. :3

It's the mandatory christmas family game. That is why.

I think you have it right. Sony wants variety when it comes to content so that no gamer feels left out. I think most of us here feared a dudebro only future for the new consoles before launch. I hope many more family friendly games with a good sized budget release on the PS4 in the future.

Why should you be "very disappointed"? A few hours ago, everything was ok for you.
And now, after you know that it will be on PS3 too, you're somehow disappointed that more PlayStation fans can play this game?

Please see my post for what I feel is a very sensible reason.

Couldn't care less about this game, but it's good that the PS3 isn't totally forgotten. It would have been nice to hear more about the platform during Sony's conference.

I have mixed feelings. I'm really glad everything I've created from LBP1 & 2 will carry over, but it definitely seems like the PS4 version will be nothing more than a glorified 1080p port. I mean, if you make levels on the PS4, it's obviously going to have to be dumbed down to be compatible with the PS3 port of the game. This means they are going to have to put an artificial limit on the level thermometer in create mode, forcing you to make something way less detailed to keep PS3 owners happy.

In the end though, I'll still be satisfied either way. Using the Vita to work on levels in remote play and conveniently sharing videos of creations directly through youtube will be a huge bonus.

Mmmmmmmmm, you have no idea. Finally, I'll be able to share all my cool stuff, even if I never finish anything.

Well, didn't see that coming. I understand Sony wants as many game sales as possible but sooner or later the PS4 needs to just stretch it's legs on it's own. I'm still looking forward to this game.

It's a shame too because that LBP Vita game was pretty good from what I remember.

Real good. Although what made it great was the exclusive levels that Tarsier/Double11 did themselves. I never actually messed with the user-gen stuff myself, heard great things about it. Would have been lovely to have it on all three platforms ... although if people would just go out and buy the original Vita game itself (which, going by the numbers, people did not do,) that'd be something.

So what's the point of the PS4? You're not going to have more power to make levels with because I assume they want LBP3 PS4 levels to be as playable as LBP3 PS3 levels within the same LBP3 community.

I don't like this. The LBP2 level space limit was already not high enough, now they give us more RAM with PS4 but we're trapped to the PS3 again.

Unless they said otherwise, there is no reason PS4 level has to work on the ps3. Just like the ps3 minecraft levels work on the ps4 but not vicr versa.

Not surprised. The visuals weren't that stellar, unless it was an old build. Not a fan of this cross gen shit, unless the lead platform was the PS4, which I doubt. Probably a PS3 title at first and bumped up to PS4 mid development :/

Hmm. Well, this gives me hope for a "proper" PS4 entry at some point. This game has some good things going for it, but it's a shame they didn't go for broke on PS4 with it.

My guess? This was added to the PS4 lineup when DriveClub, The Order, and inFamous all slipped.

Yeah, keep chasing that dying last-gen market, Sony. :(

Seeing a lot of conclusion jumping in this thread. Let's see what XDEV/Sumo actually say. I mean look at forza, people were already jumping on it yelling dumbed down when it became clear that the X1 version was on a different engine. The 2 are not comparable one for one, but we didn't know the details until a few hours after. The PS3 version hasn't even been officially announced.

Being on the PS3 it shows why the graphical leap isn't as big as I expected it to be. I really think LBP should be close to Pixar graphics, especially when you get something incredible like The Order that already looks like a CG movie.

Saying that, I'm more excited for this than Farcry 4 during the end of the year. I think only Destiny might be my most anticipated game of 2014 for the rest of the year. Just please allow us to use custom songs during level creation #prays

If we're seeing a suped up version of the PS3 title on a PS4, I'd really hope to see some nice current gen perks. Second screen options for level editing, 60 FPS, decreased load times and input lag...

I really want to love this one in the way I loved the Vita game.

I know people want PS4 exclusives, but no one should be surprised that Sony is supporting their last gen system. They've always operated this way.

Thanks for putting it into better words. I'm skipping this out of principle. Looks like its Driveclub only.

This is very true.

I'm honestly kinda bummed about this news. I always thought the PS4 sequel would've been the perfect opportunity to re-assess certain elements from the ground up, then evolve the series in a major way moving forward.

But now it seems like this game's origins as a last gen iteration is gonna end up holding it back the most. I swear man, this series is just gonna keep breaking my heart.

Nah, I'm pretty sure this always was a PS3/PS4 cross gen title. It makes a lot of sense for LBP.

Great to see the old gen still getting new major games. Even though I have a Wii U and PS4, the new consoles don't seem like they'll pick up steam until 2015
