LittleBigPlanet Official Thread: Live in your world, play in ours.

Amazing. I was actually playing online this morning for 15 mins and I got to play some online levels!

Hope it stays up from now on and runs like it did this morning.

Why aren't there any reports on the Japanese launch of the game?

I got my copy the night before the launch day at a local game store so I don't know how any of the major shops looked today.

I haven't had too much time to fully dive into LBP yet, but I love what I've seen so far.

Question on how the shared levels work;

When I play a user created level online, is that level kept on my system? Can I play it anytime I want? Or do I have to go online and retrieve the data for that level every time? I know I've read about people re-publishing stolen levels as their own, so I'm guessing the data is kept on the system?

If you download them you will have the data. It will take a space on your moon though (where you save your creations). When you play the levels from online without downloading it's only temporarily stored locally.

Maybe I missed an answer to this, but TeknomanEX sent me two LittleBigGifts as PSN messages (a message with game data attached), how do I open/make use of the data he sent me? I can't figure out how to access the data.

Press Start. Select LBP Messages.

So stuff is working correctly now?

I think there are bound to be some issues, but it seems the 1.3 patch and other fixes has made the game run much smoother. Let the game of forever begin.

PS - honestly I actually Laughed Out Loud last night while playing with a few people from this board. I don't remember the last time that happened.

Looks like online could be fine now.

But I have to say, what the hell is with the lack of ranking features they promised? This is still exactly like the beta, only with a working search. Where the hell can I sort by level plays, hearts, creator hearts, and star rankings?

Ah awesome. Do I have to choose 'download' somewhere? From what I remember, when you pick a level you can either Play Online, or Play Solo, or however they defined it. I don't remember an option to actually 'download' the level. And yeah, dumb question, I haven't looked through the manual or messed around with the game long enough yet.

Thanks btw.

Seems to be out everywhere. I passed up on it, don't know why, but maybe I'll pick it up this weekend. Price was pretty cheap, 4700 yen.

Can you send Kratos or Nariko costumes to someone as LBP gifts?

Oh and finally this morning servers worked, and worked great.

Does anyone still keep the "Best Beta Levels" list handy somewhere, or should I snoop through the beta thread?

I think the option simply is on another page. When the level page pops up, scroll the pages with L1 and R1. It should be there somewhere.

I got home at 3 yesterday to find the servers up and running (relatively) smoothly. I almost wished I hadn't because I ended up wasting about 4 hours online playing various levels. I did run into some problems when someone (I believe from this thread) tried joining in on my game. It froze for a second and then locked up and I had to quit, so my apologies to whoever that was because I really wanted to get in on some multiplayer. I can't wait to play this all weekend.

"Today is a good day for exploration" thought Sackboy as he gazed upon his SackSub. The ocean was ripe for the picking...what would he find today?

IMG_0891.JPG

Soon he met up with his friend Michelle as they got in her superior SackSub 9000 (the ultra limited model with exclusive gold trim, you see.)

IMG_0893.JPG

And so they were on their way, picking up rare seashells for her lab.

And then...something happens. Something so odd, so truely unique, so strange, weird, and horribly uncommon that mere words cannot describe it. Well they could, but what's the fun in that? Experience what happens in my new level, Into the Ocean of Madness. You can find it south of the coast between Russia and Alaska, or add me PSN (chubigans).

Alright, maybe one pick of the weirdness that unfolds:

IMG_0895.JPG

The level has NO hazards, no platform jumping (save for a few secrets), no real design for taking Sackboy's life. This is a pure adventure/lite RPG quest, including a few secrets that may net you quite a few prizes on your next playthrough.

Enjoy! It took me a good forty hours or so to make. :D

Is metalmurphy around? Is good levels going to have all the best hearted levels? How about that site you made, can you give the link?
I'm around, I just don't have LBP yet.

I can still update the website for the retail version but you guys will have to PM me the info about the levels for me to update it cause it's hard for me to follow without the game.

Here's the link btw:

I played a bit just now, everything was smooth. Even the trophy levels where I usually encounter lag because the large quantity of bubbles ran smooth.

Has anyone tried doing the gameshare thing with the Kratos and Nariko codes? It seems like it should work. It's no different than any other download from the PS Store.

Its been really smooth all morning long.
For the people having problems, have you encountered them on user generated levels or on the Media Molecule included levels? I played last night (11pm-12:30am EST) with three other people from GAF on a bunch of the MM levels and had pretty much a flawless experience.

looks like finally the servers are smooth as butter. Although I lack LBP friends (LordFarquaad) add me and i'll play for freaking hours, i love this damn game. Going to be partying at the Phillies parade tomorrow, but other then that, LBP is my weekend.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Almost 100% on story levels and corrupt save data.

They seriously need to make sure that doesn't happen anymore. I've been careful and still got a corrupted save.

Thanks TTP for the answer, and I've alllllllmost aced every level, though I still have the
Bunker and the level right before the Collector level
. I was doing so good in the former that when I was about to exit the wheel i hit the edge of the wall as I was falling and died. SO MUCH RAGE. Unfortunately, my 100%'ing of stages ends at Boomtown.

I can help you 100% some of the later levels. I was doing that last night with 2 other people, tons of fun.

Repost and my thoughts on the few I played last night that I havent already commented on.

Foggy Mountain - Its a cool relaxing platform level. I agree about about gluing your switches but don’t see the need to move them closer. Also I fell right before the end and it took a picture of nothing. =(

Little Big Halloween- Great looking level, you nailed the look. How did you change the smoke color? The challenge is good and those spikes toward the end(?) are brutal. I didn't finish but Im going to try later. I did get stuck behind the downward lava ramp a few times and had to Hari kari.

Electric Ruins - The perfect mix of Jenga and a cattle prod ;) These types of levels hook me. I did give up where the wood meets the rubber because I fell off to the right and left your level. You may want to put some spikes down there.

Donkey!* Fun, but did almost a perfect run and wasn't close to your high score. Am I missing something? Don't tell me what it is. I just dont want to search for some bonus you may have pulled.

Ill try and play more tonight.

Also I think we need a separate thread just for people to post their level lists and pimp their new levels. All discussion should remain here though with links to the thread with maybe a single picture.

Thanks! I have pretty much Boomtown and everything after to do, though I've made it on some stages where all I need is the areas that require multiple players.

Anyone know if the free DLC costumes are up yet?
PS Store updates are never up this early (for the US). It will be around 6:00pm EST more likely.

However, the Spaceman and Pumpkin Head costumes are up on the Japanese store but are region locked.

Can't you just find it in the Saved Data Utility folder, hit triangle and then "Copy?" Or send it to a memory card/USB drive?

seems simple enough.

ALSO..

I need a headset..preferably cordless..can someone point me in the right direction.

For the record, I don't know 100% that that's how you do it for LBP. But that's how I have copied other games' saved data and I can't imagine there's any difference for LBP. A save file is a save file.

Played a God of War themed level this morning. Pure win. My PSN ID is matmanx1 just like my gaf forum name so if you see me online feel free to toss me an invite for LBP playtime.
