So I guess the famous SotC level got deleted? I couldn't find it while playing with a friend last night. I was wanting to show it off.
This cannot be true. [overreaction removed]

*edit* No, it's not deleted. The level is called Little Big Colossus v2, and I just played it.

BTW what's the cool name of the Ico level everybody is talking about?
Search for "Ico Finished Version". There's another one, called Ico ß version, but you don't want that one - it only contains the very beginning of the finished version.

Is the first one supposed to be Sazabi?
Nah, not quite. I thought the same after I decided to stop working on it.

And this is what he was asking about earlier...

Okay... here's a vid of what I'm currently working on in LBP.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ9uncjh1Kg

Some good 'ol side scrolling mecha action.

lbpzeon1.jpg

I won't be using the Zakus in the final version thanks to the recent string of moderape, but I'll make 'em hidden prizes. I just used the Zakus as test versions of my mecha. The first true finalized mecha is the green suit I use near the end of the video. What isn't shown is the recent addition I made for continuing battle damage from bullets etc. I'll feature that somewhere down the line as time permits. There's also close range combat, but I had destroyed my test subjects and accidentally saved the level after the fact.

Also, I'm working on a transformable mecha which can be controlled similar to the mecha in the video. These things also allow for 2 players to hop in, modifying the weaponry to become more powerful.

Hope y'all like what you see.

damn, i spend about 4 hours on making my first level. it's called ONPSX WORLD . Yeah, it sucks compared to most of the others :lol But creating something is really addicting. Damn, well done Sony! Well done! Too bad MGS4 came out this year. Otherwise LPB would be my game of the year.

You're going to like my new level, lots of blood splatters :lol

I'll add you later and give some level feedback too. Look forward to trying it out (after studying).

Guys am I missing something or are the beta levels not available?

I've just jumped in to LBP after enjoying the beta.

They're definitely available.

I forgot to ask, is the rewind glitch from the beta that kills your save file fixed yet?

Both of the levels I published in the beta are online... I found them by doing a search as the first thing I did when I got LBP.

There was a really awesome MGS one that was amazing to play, I can't find it anywhere anymore >_>

Published my first level called Verical Velocity, took forever. Its a very weird level, its basically a vertical stage so you have spinning platforms and springs to send you up. Throughout this tower like area there are different activities or sections that have a switch, five in all. Once you find all five you have to get down a mountain.

I took pics from the editor mode cause thats the only way to get a wide shot.

Thats the starting area, you can see the entrance to the fighting arena.

Thats the king and the shrine, he will help you. Above him is the shooting gallery.

One of the different sections of the map.

A small piece of the mountain.

So go ahead and try it out.
NAME: Vertical Velocity
PSN name: dvader654

Not sure if it's just me, but I've always had trouble searching for specific levels. Take MiamiWesker's Vertical Velocity for example. I type it in perfectly, and I don't get a proper match. I type it in as just Velocity, and same thing.

Is there something I'm missing?

They should make it so that you can upload those screenshots you take with the camera to the PS3 menu.

Here is my sackboy.

I feel completely inept. Anyone seen or created a good approximation of a waterfall? I can't seem to create anything that seems remotely worthwhile.

How about using several emitters to create the "water" at slightly different offsets and timings? Set an initial velocity on the objects so they start off falling fairly fast.

They're actually doing that now? =(

Yeah, I heard the awesome God of War level got moderated as well. D:
I really hope they make a mature section so that they don't need to be as strict with moderation.

I want the moderation to be active. They're just modding the wrong fucking stuff!

Moderate all that trophy shite, moderate the rascist shite. Not good stuff.

That GoW level was brilliant, yet we've a gta level which is utter utter garbage not being modded. I don't understand.

Did anyone play that GTA level. You drove along the ground in a MM created car, got out, talked to a sackboy, got about 10 prizes. All the prizes are prizes from other infinitly superior user levels. what a lame bastard.
Had tons of hearts too, and comments saying 'awesome thanks'. Needless to say, mine did not say that.

Yeah, I did. I was wondering why it was so popular considering it must've taken what, 2 minutes to make. :lol

I don't understand why people keep hearting this kind of shit... there are atrocius levels with thousands of hearts, and god levels that no one ever touched.

Secondo, when i entered my level stuff wasn't glued anymore. I systematically glue and support all my level pieces together while i build the level. This means sometimes when you save the level it doesn't save correctly and it's possible your stuff isn't glued anymore. Anyways, took me like 15-20 mins only to re-glue everything. NOT FUN.

Media Molecule should really patch this mess of a game.
That's not what happened actually...sometime during the course of the game you unglued something, causing the whole level to unstick.

I've done that many times before in my early works. It's something you'll learn the hard way not to do. :(

I seriously would like to see MM make a policy of "No Trophy Levels." I honestly wish trophies weren't in the game. The focus of this game should be to make levels that are fun to play. These 'get trophies now!!!' levels are absolute garbage, and there are so many of them pushing out legitimate levels that people took the time to create. The beta's online experience was superior, because I didn't have to sort through a constant pile of this nonsense.

Because MM thought it would be a good idea for people to get trophies for hearting things and the quick crappy levels are were the first to be completed and now remain on the first few pages.

I know, there's nothing we can do though. It's bad enough the amount of people that have played them, but to heart that shit? Why? I heart stuff I think is exceptional and would play again. I also heart stuff I come across which which I like but think most people will never play.

How is a stupid level were you fly into the air, or just collect scores worth hearting?

Been experimenting with that. Even at the shortest emit frequency, it doesn't flow without a gap.

Now I'm trying something with pistons, so there wouldn't be any actual flow, there'd just a representational animation of water.

I'm pretty sure the GoW level was moderated because it had segment where you were throwing people into the fire pit while cheerful music was playing in the background. I don't think moderation has anything to do with the levels being good or bad.

Some of the MM levels were bordering on that weren't they? With blood and stuff all over the place. And shooting a guy is allowed, but pushing into fire isn't?

If that's the reason, thats lame.

The GoW level also had a picture of Kratos from official artwork taken with the PSeye. That may have been the key to having it deleted, sadly.

How about modifying one of the vertical conveyor systems from The Mines? You could glue water decals in front of the planks that are there already. They have a nice wobble to them, so the effect could look pretty cool.

I can't believe I just spent several hours on a contraption to simulate a puzzle. I'm trying to make a Professor Layton type level (not with PL elements, of course) with different puzzles that you physically solve. I'm doing stuff like making a working set of balance scales for the 'find the heavy/light weight' puzzles and a raft for the 3 wolves/3 chicks and wolf/sheep/hay type puzzles.

The one that's actually taken a while to create is the one about 4 people crossing a bridge at night with a lantern. No more than two can cross at any time, and they must have the lantern with them to cross. The 4 people travel at different speeds (1,2,5 and 10 seconds in my level) and when travelling in pairs, they move at the speed of the slowest person. How do you get them across in the shortest amount of time (which is 17 seconds)?

So it seems easy, but it's actually been pretty hard to implement. Plenty of variable speed pistons and precisely emitted blocks of dissolve material abound. I've pretty much worked out everything now, and just have to add the logic for detecting illegal moves and so on. It should be pretty cool when it's done. Hopefully that'll be by tomorrow, and I may put it up as just that puzzle for now to get some feedback while I create the others (which are much easier from the few tests I've done already).

We're almost done with the User Level's thread and Ranger X is gonna post it tonight. Whats gonna be the best way to make sure Ranger X has the first 2 posts while I have the third, since no mods seem to have answered our call for help? Just post it as a blank topic with "DONT POST DAMMIT UNTIL POST#3 IS POSTED"?

If you guys need help for a 4th empty reply, I can post a blank one and then copy&paste whatever you guys need.

I'd expect you guys could manage close enough just by posting as quickly as possible. That'll mean a max of three minutes transpires. If anyone does post in that time, mods can always remove posts later. But I would think the likelihood of that needing to be done will be low since I'd expect most people interested in that thread would already be paying attention to this one.

You could always try making the text of the OP a temporary request not to post until Ranger and you have the first posts in the thread completed. Then edit the OP and post another reply that says "OK to reply now"

That is EXCELLENT news. I suppose it was moved? Because I swear I looked and looked for it and could not find it.

Weee, today i managed to find (with help from the Bradygames LBP strategy buide) the last prize bubble, so i now i have collected all of them :) Today i also managed to ace the last couple of levels that i needed to ace, so now i have aced every level (except the ones (minigames) where you have to die to complete the level of course) :)

Still a very bad bug :(
I can't believe the shader one though. It's so apparent it's not even funny. It's even bugging everywhere in the story mode but to lesser extent (you know when the fire or gaz starts to cover the screen...)

I'm working on a boat for a Jaws inspired level and it seems that if I try to unstick any part of it, the whole thing falls apart. It wouldn't be a huge deal, except that now it won't let me glue it back together at all. It was late when it was happening and I didn't feel like fighting with it, but I'm going to try again tonight. Hopefully I was just doing something wrong and too tired to notice. This was after I had just figured out how to make the boat move forward and rock at the same time (turns out I had been over thinking the problem and it was simple to implement)

Okay, my first level is online. It's called A Jump and Run Odyssey and it's a nice little platform level with many secrets. Username is Oliver-1984. Have fun with it, tell me what you think and set a new record. ;)

I'd post the thread with the correct title and DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD only in the post. Then reply as many times as needed.

If soneone messes it up, start a new thread.

Once you got what you need, go in an edit with correct content.

I'll come online in a few minutes and play through it with you MiamiWesker, if you want to. I'm fucking bored.

I went to sleep, I will be on some point today I think. In a way I want to take a break from the game (I will be renting ME tomorrow), create mode takes a lot out of you.

Does anybody have a finished (or nearly-finished) savegame for the european version? Just got my copy today and I don't want to go through all of the singleplayer again (did it in some earlier builds) to open up all the items for the editor. It would really help me out... :)

so I just found this post from sam on the workshop site...

We have been looking into the current issues surrounding the moderation of LittleBigPlanet levels, as it is clear that we're not currently going far enough to inform users who have had a creation moderated why the action was necessary. We are moving towards a system whereby rather than receiving a generic message any affected user will also receive an indication of what was found to be infringing on the EULA. We're additionally looking to provide clear, plain language directions on what is and is not acceptable to be published through the game.

Until these changes come in, my official recommendation is that any creations you publish do not infringe on any copyright or otherwise include language or imagery that is not suitable for an audience of all ages. We'll have more comprehensive guidelines soon, but for now the EULA states the following :

You agree that you will not create, transfer, share, send, submit or upload any User Generated Content that:
(a) is protected by copyright, patent, trademark or trade secret or otherwise subject to third-party proprietary rights, including but not limited to rights of privacy and publicity (unless you are or have permission from the rightful owner);
(b) contains fraudulent statements or misrepresentations that could damage SCE or any third party;
(c) contains any statements or materials that disparage, ridicule or scorn SCE or any third party;
(d) is obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, predatory, pornographic, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would violate any law or is otherwise inappropriate;
(e) is an advertisement or solicitation of business;
(f) is an impersonation of another person; or
(g) violates any of the rules of Online Conduct, other terms of this Agreement, terms of the PSN Terms of Service and Usage Agreement or any other terms related to this game

For the time being, if you believe your level has been moderated and you don't know why please contact me via private message including the level title and your PSN ID and I'll investigate

I guess the God of War level got moderated because of copyright issue, but also because some bits are beyond an all-ages rating, what with the "corpses" and "blood". Perhaps there should be a more mature category which can utilize the PS3's Parental Control system.

It's probably okay to make parodies of existing games, although parody might get confused with c) (No 360 RRoD levels)

This whole moderation of content got me thinking? What better way for third parties and even internal sony studios to promote their games. How great would it be if DICE put up an official Mirrors Edge level on LBP or an official God of War level by Sony?

This is an idea that other developers should embrace!
