Local multiplayer games for 6-8 people?

My current group of friends have been holding games nights once a week where 8 (if we have the full party) of us get together to play games. Our current rotation is:
Jackbox Party Pack (Fibbage and Drawful)
Mount your friends
Gang Beasts
Smash Bros WiiU.

I can't think of many other games that support big groups, so I'm looking for suggestions. We have pretty much every console between us and a PC connected to the TV, so I'm not opposed to emulating stuff either (10 player Saturn bomberman would be cool if we can get it to work).

Bomberman Blast for Wii has 8-player multiplayer (4 GC controller and 4 Wii remotes). I'm sure there are other Bombermans with that as well.

EDIT: Welp.

Was going to suggest jackbox, because it's the best, but it's already in OP.

Wii U has a handful of 5 player games (4 remotes + 1 gamepad), which falls short by 1 :/

Wii party U, Wario U, NintendoLand are all pretty great for 5 players.

The next step is probably to play board games, I guess.

2 original xboxs
8 controllers
1 system link cable
2 cheapie xbox component cables
2 copies of halo & halo 2

Forget the 360 it emulates Xbox games poorly. There are others that support 4 player split screen and system link simultaneously like Timesplitters. If only Freedom Fighters and Metal Arms did.

Thought about doing this with Mario Kart Double Dash, Didn't realise Timesplitters could do it too.

I'll definitely grab Runbow when it's out too, that looks really good. Bomberman Blast sounds like it'll be easier than getting the saturn emulator running, does anyone know if you can use the GC adapter to play it on the Wii U?

The PS3 and Mac/Linux versions of J.S. Joust in Sportsfriends work with up to seven people and are absolutely fantastic. You DO need a fairly large play space though.

Mario Party 7 has an 8 player mode, but I don't think it works like 8 people playing by themselves.

EDIT: lol beaten.

If you're serious about having the best big group local multi experience, get a Saturn, two multitaps, ten controllers and a copy of Saturn Bomberman. Guardian Heroes is also 6 player.

If you have DSes or 3DSes, you can play Mario Kart DS (on both DS and 3DS) or Mario Kart 7 with eight people.

The very best thing is that with both of those games, you can play multiplayer with only one cartridge.

When I was in high school, some of my best gaming memories involved playing Mario Kart DS with 6-8 people before school...

Artemis Bridge Simulator is great fun for groups (5-6 is best). You need people to bring their own screens but it works on tablets or very weak laptops.

(You can also run two copies on one machine so don't need a dedicated PC for the main viewscreen, just use the TV as a second monitor and run that copy on it.)

Nope, it's simultaneous. Two people share a controller - each person gets a control stick and some buttons on their side, so 8 people playing together at the same time.

Edit: There's a bunch of 5 player games on the Wii U, like Chasing Aurora, Sonic Transformed Racing, Mario Party 10, although not so many 6+ player games.

rock band 3 supports
3 vocalist
1 guitar
1 bass
1 drum
1 keyboard player

for a total of 7 players. Granted it's a bit of an investment to get all of the instruments, but if you go to your local thrift stores and what not you might get lucky.

Pretty sure the GC adapter for the Wii U is only supported by Smash Bros unfortunately.

Some sports games on PS3 support 7 players. Only one I can currently think of is FIFA.

If you all have laptops or smartphones, you could try Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator. (edit: Steam link)

The Worms games are also solid turn-based strategy games for 6 players. The latest games in the series are Worms Battlegrounds for consoles and Worms Clan Wars for PC.

I second this, but I will say that Component Cables aren't exactly cheap (roughly $25). Of course, that's pocket change compared to GameCube Component Cables.

Xbox LAN is still the best way to play Halo Multiplayer. Add two more Boxes and a router to play MechAssault.

Xb1 has #IDARB for 8 players and Riptide GP2 for 6 players. One is free with gold and the other is $5.

Beat me to it. These are both super fun and pretty easy to get into. Smash Bros U also has surprisingly good 8-player local. JS Joust on the PS3 version would be another good choice assuming you have the controllers for it. The PS4 version is good, but tops out at 4 players.

I will now get Mario Party 7 (I just remembered I got Mario Party 5 for some reason). Unfortunately I have only two Gamecube controllers and want more Classic Controllers. When I eventually get a homebrew Wii I'll use a hack to let me use Classic Controllers with the game.

I also really dig 5-player support on Wii U and own all the games listed except Mario Party 10.

Bomberman Ultra on PS3 supports 8 players.
Sportsfriends has a game (Joust) that supports 7 players on the PS3.
PixelJunk Racer (7 players)
Most team sports games on PS3 has 7-8 player support

Did these use 7-8 DualShock 3's? I'd never heard of PS3 multiplayer going above four on one console, so that's really cool.

This. PS3 had pretty decent support for 7 controllers last gen. This time PS4 only has 4 max like 360 did and XBO allows for 8 player. They now hold the crown of current gen 6-8 player possibilities.

You can connect up to 7 DS3 on a PS3, the 8th player would have to use a USB controller. The PS3 supports generic USB controllers, though I never tried using a wireless controller that has it's own wireless USB dongle. Sony went completely backwards with the PS4 which sucks.

Yeah, just a note the majority of the minigames are only 4 player, but for a party it's perfect to just go into the special 8 player minigame mode and play the first to x number of wins mode (or just free play minigames). You can also team up and play with 8 people on the boards but there's a bit too much time spent waiting for a turn IMO.
