LocoRoco Remastered Launching May 9th on PS4

Game looks so good in hd and it's also a bit weird seeing the whole tilt effect on a big screen instread of a portable screen.

Is this only the first game? Dang, I thought it included both, and maybe Midnight Carnival.
Just the first. Sucks, but I hope the game sells enough for the second game to be ported.

Yeah, that's my concern, that we'll never see the second one remastered because the first one doesn't meet expectations.

Is it the same for Patapon also? That really blows, the trilogy would make a really attractive package.

Yup, it's the same for patapon. That one is gonna hurt big time if 2 doesn't get ported.

With that said though I noticed a couple of things. The cutscenes (intro, world clear and i'd assume the ending aswell) are just upscaled like they were in PaRappa's Remaster, but that's understandable. And there's a weird audio issue where it seems to screech for a littlebit in certain parts of the game and during the stage clear jingle. It might just be because I was streaming, or because I was wearing a headset, but it definitely is unforunate as while it's not a dealbreaker and doesn't happen often it would've been a perfect port otherwise.

The games still as fun as ever to play and the music's still absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to play some more tomorrow!

I noticed the same things. There does seem to be an audio issue (some noise) during the stage clear jingle unless it's intentional? And the cutscenes do look a bit poor compared to the crisp visuals ingame. I wonder how much work it would have been to remake those since there doesn't seem to be a lot...? It would have made the remaster perfect.

Anyhow, i didn't play the original game so i struggled with the controls at first (kept wanting to use the motion controls) but the game is fun and imaginative. I love the presentation, both visually and audio wise. It doesn't look like an old game at all.

I'm looking forward to continue playing tomorrow and i'm happy with my purchase.

60/4K.

And I haven't played the Parappa demo, but the full game is 60/4K as well.
Just to confirm, I took a look at both games and only Locoroco is 60fps.
Parappa is 30fps. Not that it's very important but maybe Parappa at 60fps would help solve the lag problems.

Oops, sorry. I must be remembering incorrectly.

Apologies for the wrong info

Game is just how I remember it.

Frame rate has dipped a few times and there's a bit of sound clipping, but other than that it is smooth as butter.

Repeating every stage until you 100% it doesn't help the games mellow:lol

Especially when you miss a fruit fly in a pinball machine area and can't backtrack to get it.

Oh goodie, broken trophies.

I just 100%ed world one and I didn't get the trophy for getting 20 Locoroco on every stage in world one.

I finished the game yesterday and i adored it (i'd rate it a 9/10). I will probably go back to the game in the future to collect more and get closer to 20/20 on each level.

The game features lovely visuals and presentation, a fantastic soundtrack and a fun, fresh and imaginative gameplay concept. The flow in the level design is just amazing.

It's a pity that Sony didn't bother to redo the cutscenes (which, i have the impression, wouldn't have been all that much work?) and it's strange that there is some noise in the sound at times.

I'm glad i got the opportunity to play this superb game with this remaster.

Been playing through the game and loving it, but it does seem to be a bit buggy. The crane game has bugged out several times with it either giving me free stuff or just totally blocking the screen so I can't see what I'm going for. Some of the levels seem to get stuck on a non-native slant, making it very difficult to platform around.

And this seems to be more of a missing feature, but is there really no way to see which levels you've gotten all of the, what do you call them, little flower things? I know you can see your record for locos, muimuis, and time, but it doesn't seem like you can see the collected flowers.

Ive played this game for at least 6 hours and I've never encountered the problems you described. *Shrug* anyone else?

Edit: as for getting stuck on a tilt, you probably have motion sensor enabled and your titling you controller. Turn it off by pressing the touch pad... I think. Check your options menu.

Game doesn't tell if you got all the fruit fly things. I think they are called pickories or something. I just don't continue untill I 100% a level.

Game is for sure really buggy. Remember to manually save after every level since the game will crash on you often and there is no autosave.

Oh my goodness, thank you. I must've accidentally turned on motion. I didn't even know that was an option.

Pickories, that's right. Ah boo, I guess I'll start doing that too. I'm only on world 2 so not too much to replay.

Tip for the crane game: There are 6 colors of Locoroco and you get the final color(green) about 1/2 way through the 4th world.

One of the trophies is "get 20 Locoroco of every color" in the crane game. Once you've collected enough of one color, you'll get 300 pickories every time you get another one, so that's how you know you've collected enough of that color. Also if leave and go back into the crane game enough times, you'll get one that is filled only with Locoroco. You lose 100 pickories every time you quit out so you may as well do one grab before you quit if you don't get the prize selection you want.

Wait, so the gyro control does exist? Are you sure of it? Some other posters above lamented the lack of tilt controls.

It's a thing. I didn't know it was in the game, which is why I was initially upset by the 'lack' of it, but touch pad does enable gyro controls.
That's fantastic. The game always felt like it was meant for tilt controls. I was going to wait for the remaster price drop, as I've already played the game to death on PSP, but now I can't resist buying it right away.

Was there an OT for this game? Did Sony bother to say anything about it releasing? Did anyone in the games press do anything about it other than a GB Quick Look?

I had no idea this game was out.

No OT, Sony mentioned its release on Twitter and a video on its channel on day of its release, not many companies took a look at it

I know Parappa was the big ticket item, but kind of a shame how they do something cool like doing a proper remaster on these titles but them shit them out. I'm sure no one will buy it and the takeaway will be "guess there wasn't the market for it."

True, I wonder how Patapon remaster will fare, I know that one is pretty big atleast much bigger than Locoroco especially

Yeah, it seems like Sony is just sort of releasing these to die. Kind of odd since a big deal was made when they were originally announced.

For the love of god DO NOT TRY AND 100% this game. The game wasn't designed for it at all and it will affect your enjoyment.

As long as you remember to manually save after every level so you don't lose progress when it inevitably crashes often, 100%ing is not that hard.

A couple of the shorter levels have no room for error on the speed runs and a couple of the levels have pickories in annoying places that are easy to miss and you only have one shot at getting, but I wouldn't call it hard. Especially if you've played and 100%ed it on PSP.
