Loki is spoiling Bayonetta 2 for me

Yeah, his VA is all over the place. It's not consistent. His script is all over too, so it's not just VA. I don't really know what accent he's going for.

George from MGR is hilarious. I wouldn't have that game any other way. Loki is fine, he didn't detract from my Bayonetta 2 experience.

He is THE WORST, I can't stand the character or his VA. I can't imagine what they were thinking with his character, it's bafflingly bad. It doesn't ruin Bayo 2 for me but it is the only negative I have with it

Honestly, I didn't mind Loki at all. Bayonetta mostly just toyed with him in the game and he was important to the plot though despite his annoying attitude he didn't ruin the game for me.

Loki's not a favorite character or anything but I did like what they did with him and thought he added some good flavor to the game while fitting in pretty well with where they've taken the universe. No problems with his voice acting at all.

Only voice I did have a problem with (in the first game too) is Luka's. Yuri Lowenthal overacts his lines way too much and it doesn't help that almost 100% of them were cheesy this time around. This works perfectly fine for Yosuke but feels out of place in Bayonetta.

I thought I was gonna murderously hate him.

Actually ended up liking him, love.

Nothing like a Korean guy affecting a Cockney accent for a bit of surreal entertainment.

I am plowing through the first game and was hoping that there wouldn't be another Enzo situation in the sequel. It's hard to imagine that they have a character more annoying than Enzo, so I hope it's not true. It doesn't help that his cry taunts me every time I get a stone trophy (which is every chapter so far).

His dialogue would have been better had it been written by someone who knows what English people actually talk like. Which is odd because Bayonetta herself is voiced by a real Brit.

He's not supposed to be British though. Loki is from Central Asia, and was perhaps taught to speak english by someone British - hence the odd accent.

He can get annoying, but his dialogue with Bayonetta can be fun, im also fond of his stupid music, hair and cards, plus:

Cereza is still the best Platinum child by far though, also George can just be run over by a car.

Also i dont see much point in disscussing his accent, im not sure what he is should sound like.

He didn't annoy me, honestly; I found his voice interesting rather than annoying. It's a pretty unique voice. Loki's design was really out-there, too. I didn't hate it.

I dont think he is that bad. I've certainly heard much worse dialogue before. The voice doesnt bother me. I kind of like the character.

Bayonetta, and to a much lesser extent, Jeanne, are the only characters in both games that aren't appalling written and voice acted.

Terrible writing, annoying characters, clichéd dialogue and woeful voice acting is still far too common in Japanese games, with Platinum being particularly shit-tier at it. Vanquish is their least bad game as far as the whole characters/dialogue/acting goes, but that had its fair share of shit in it too.

My only problem with him is that he doesn't shut up, but that's not an issue exclusive to him. Why are the cutscenes in this game so long? I don't want to skip them, but they're really ruining my fun.

Talkin smack about Enzo? Fuggedabout it!

Some people in here are crazy--Enzo is the absolute best character in the ame.

The potty-mouth gangster? Oh hell no! Awful awful awful. I much prefer Loki. He's trite and the voice acting is bad but at least he doesn't grate on my nerves like Enzo.

Enzo is at least hilarious because he says "forget about it" at completely inappropriate times. It's a charming kind of shitty writing where his inspiration was clearly a bunch of movie mobster lines relayed to the writers through a game of cultural telephone.

Loki is total shit though

POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BAYONETTA 2 PLOT AND UNLOCKABLES

I actually really liked Loki. Especially because, for me, he got the best cutscene in the game

His big fuck you to the final boss was amazing. "He think's all I've got is some shit Sovereign Power" and "Any good card player's a gambler"

I thought those bits were super, super cool. Total legend man. Plus his card fighting style is wicked.

Gutted we never get to use it

Platinum likes to include terrible child characters for whatever reason. I didn't particularly hate Loki but he's a very uninteresting character to center a large portion of the plot around. Luka from 101 is way worse in that regard though, especially since 101 has a much better story overall.

There's no mystery to his accent; it's a guy trying to do an English accent while not having the first clue how English accents actually sound. No idea where the hard 'r's go, no idea how to do the 'ah' sounds, just zero clue about the whole thing. It's like he's talking in an American accent with an English inflection or something. It's terrible. Guy should be ashamed to walk into a recording booth and do that, especially when he had to at least have met the actual English lady who voices Bayonetta.
