LOL Crysis 3 is so bad.

There's really not much to the plot. Alpha ceph is super bad and prophet is hellbent on killing it.

Plus some bit about psycho being hella mad over losing his suit.

All the babbling about Ceph and Alpha Ceph and different dimensions and fusion with suits and shit reminded me of the incomprehensible Fal Cie/L'Cie/Cocoon stuff from FF13. I just never had the slightest clue about what was happening or even who was talking to me on the radio and why she hated me so much. I'd beaten the first two games but nothing in this series' stupid mythology registers.
 
The game is bad because of the storyline? I haven't played it yet, but why would a bad story bring down a game to the point where everything is terrible if the gameplay is actually enjoyable? I don't know. Maybe I am old fashioned because I always placed gameplay and fun over story.
 
What is this? Did I seriously spend 60 bucks on this game? Dead Space was decent, but what the hell is going on here, the storyline is worse than terrible. Beautiful visuals otherwise, but hire a game designer for christs sake.


This is awesome. I love this.
 
When will crytek learn to not put anymore fucking aliens in their games that we have to fight, the encounters are so uninteresting. Just another game along FarCry, Crysis 1 and 2 where the only levels I would replay are in the 1st half of each game.

If it isn't worthy of critical thinking or effort on your part to explain and detail the flaws and issues you have with the game, than you probably could've tried your comedy skills out in the OT.

Just a thought.

Yeah, the story was pretty poor. Run into this bigass dome, shoot some dudes, complain that the dudes are not important, then agree that they need to be shot at. Also some aliens.

I still think Crysis 1 was the best. There was so much to do in that game.

But if you want to make a thread dedicated solely to your opinion on a game you better have something more detailed than "It's just POOP, dickheads". This isn't gamefaqs.
 
Didn't realize there were so many defenders for this game. I loved the first game but Crysis 2 & 3 are pretty poor IMO. I got bored with 3 and haven't even finished it.

The storyline affects the gameplay. The missions you have to go through from one point in the story to the other lack any depth whatsoever. If it were more sandbox style like Crysis 1 then you can just simply ignore the storyline, but in Crysis 3 the storyline makes the world very linear and dull.

I still don't even really understand what the main character is (only played Crysis 2)

But what I got from Crysis 2's ending that it's basically Prophet mindcontrolling a corpse through the nano suit? Can't imagine that this is a good setup for some great story.
 
I have no idea whether or not Crysis 3 is good or not, but I'm really turned off by the game's commercial. It reeks of trying to be bad ass. I'm sorry, but watching a dude march around with his chest puffed out and then shoot down a helicopter with a bow while looking towards the camera isn't bad ass to me.

The ad with Sharp Dressed Man? It's a joke ad. Like the COD ones with AC/DC and celebrities.
 
Really enjoyed Crysis 3, had a good time with it especially using the Predator Bow and some of the more open areas (in comparison to Crysis 2 anyway). I definitely enjoyed it a lot more than Crysis 2 overall and hell I liked that too. I honestly couldn't tell you a single thing about the story though, utter nonsensical silliness.

What really surprised me though is how fun the multiplayer can be. Never liked Crysis 2s multi so it was a pleasant surprise at that.

-Dialogue is poor
-Nothing makes sense
-Game design is awful, so linear and boring

I just figured out that nothing makes the story of a game more convoluted than trying to come up with a plot device to convince your audience that they should play with a new protagonist. See MGS2, Crysis 2 and 3.

Heh, guess I didn't understand that unless it's an RPG or something here you are having to read a lot and they are normally story-driven. For example, Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 didn't have the most in-depth, deepest stories by any stretch of the imagination, but the gameplay was amazing and that's really what kept me glued. Like I said, maybe I am old fashioned.

Yup, the original Crysis truly was a benchmark for all FPS games going forward. Something every FPS has to be judged against, and Crysis 3 failed that test.

It's a solid, beautiful game. But it's no match for Crysis 1.
 
yeah, Ive heard it's even more streamlined and linear than Crysis 2 even

each game just gets narrower. I blame consoles.
 
This might be considered off-topic, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but this is PRECISELY how I felt about Mass Effect 3. I loved Mass Effect 2 but the 6 hours I spent in its successor were 99% boredom and 1% frustration.
