Lonely? Will you ever create an AI companion?

I have to admit, that literally made me laugh out loud. 😂

I used deepseek and some other stuff tu create a companion that can talk with me about whatever I want and also can be used to control my home automation, I only use it to show off with guest. It is a totally offline system with the 9 gb database from deepseek, so it is not always updated.

"will i ever" is a pretty big question. my answer is maybe but i won't do it now. AI still feels soulless and like talking to a robot. there are too many times where it reminds me it is just a computer talking back. of course it will improve.

i've seen people who are in a "romantic relationship" with AI. when GPT 5 came out a lot of people were upset they lost access to some 4 models. they felt more attached to a certain one. there is even a reddit sub dedicated to this but i can't remember what it is.

not gonna lie but i am lonely. i can admit it but i wouldn't ever use an AI as a companion. it just doesn't seem healthy to me. i am actively working on finding a real human as a companion. maybe if that doesn't work out (which it isn't so far) long term and if AI improves i might find myself speaking to an AI for companionship.

when it comes to talking to AI i don't really know how it is to talk to it with voice. i do remember trying voice chat with ChatGPT but it was so awful. it couldn't understand me, it kept pausing, and would always end with something like "if there is anything else I can help with just ask" or it'll ask a follow up question based on the text. maybe it's improved now but i don't care enough to find out.

i love the movie Her but even that with an AI so advanced feels dangerous. I doubt you'd ever shake that feeling that it's telling you the same thing as it's telling everyone else. That it's just a machine, really.

Nah. I like solitude. No reason to emulate a human being when I'm actively developing a dislike for humans.

I think we're looking at at least 20-25 years before they're truly human-like. Might have some semi-attractive rubbery shit in 10, but I'm talking full-on can't-tell-the-difference material. Even if I'm around for that, I'll give myself a fucking coronary trying to get on with it.
Modern sex dolls (the 'premium' ones) already have pretty realistic skin and body parts. But of course it's a completely different thing if they had to move and have advanced reactions (other than turning their heads randomly and playing moaning sounds ;)).
