Long load screens. How do you fiddle with your controller?

You've got a load short enough that you can't do something else, but long enough that its boring. What is your go to "fiddling with my controller to pass the time" maneuver.

My go to was always the "flick thumb sticks on opposing directions", as in "left stick up| right stick down. Left stick right| right stick left" and I do this in crossing directions, like UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT on repeat.

How do you pass the stimuli lacking time?

There's literally a thread for everything on here lol

One thing which I did find was quite original, was what you can do while waiting on Splatoon, you can play a crap mini game on the game pad.

I just do the Konami code, it's just a silly way to gauge how long a load lasts. "Oh this out will take about 3 codes"

In smash bros I move the sticks up and down with the beat of the menu music, most of the time it's Menu 2 that's playing.

Pretty much this, or circling them in opposite directions. Most of the time I just flick through Twitter/GAF though.

I tap the sides of the contoller with my index fingers. No particular beat or anything, just random tapping.

Most games I don't. Because when I was younger there were many times where I would move the analog stick (mainly dreamcast games) and it would offset the calibration of the game, so my character would only go right or something or it would be busted on menus. I guess I press some buttons sometimes.

With that patent up, I want to see more mini games during loading screens, if they must be long.

I don't know if this qualifies for the thread, but sometimes before a loading screen some games will get the vibration on for a while, then i will rub the controller over my junk.

Practice Tekken combos on PS4/PS3.

Rotate the stick meaninglessly on 3DS

Pretend I'm clawing through the back of the touchscreen on Vita.

RIP those awesome Assassin's Creed load screens where you could run through Animus space while it loaded

I tend to press sticks and triggers, although I regret that when I am doing it at the very first loading screen of the game - the neutral positions became off so I have to reconnect the controller or recalibrate it.

Classy.

I pick up my phone and end up waisting time way more time than the loading screen actually takes. In fact, I'm doing it right now.

I play with my balls. In the days of video game manuals, it gave me something to read while the loading gets done but alas, nowadays you get shit for physical manuals.

I pull on the analog sticks a bit so they pop up a bit, then I click em back down because it's twice as loud and therefore twice as satisfying.

For almost 20 years, whether on a PS Controller or an Xbox one, I always type out the Battle Arena Toshiden 2 Boss Codes (R1, L2, X, L1, R2, Circle and Circle, R2, L1, X, L2, R1).

It's a habit I can't break.

Lol, was not even aware that most people did this. If it's a short loading screen I just wait and look at the hint or whatever appear on the screen. If it's a long loading screen aka The Witcher 3 boot-up loading, I just use my laptop or phone real quick.

I check the internet on my laptop or get up and stretch. The controller gets no special love.

Corrected for bullshit. Squid Jump is awesome.

Ever since wireless controllers became a thing, I flip it up in the air and make it do a barrel roll or two and then try to catch it.

I look over to my pile of money for a second then back to the screen. By that time, the Intel 750 has loaded it.

I usually snap friends or achivements. For loading times too short, I play with different levels of pressure on the triggers and click the sticks

Whenever I play Wii U or PS4 I press on the triggers, as fast as I can, in this order: R1 L1 R2 L2 This habit started with the PS3 and it's something that's stuck with me.

Nothing because I am paranoid about my controllers and wear and tear. My set up is in such a way I can just rest my controller with it close enough I am still practically holding it.
