Solid episode last night. I enjoyed the first three of S4 a bit more, but there was still enough action and reveals in this one for me. Good stuff - keep it up, Lost.

After the last 2 great eps we are back to the usual Lost mediocrity. What a predictable bore this episode was. We know Kate gets off the island. We know Kate isn't going to fry for her crimes. We know Kate is a bloody indecisive moron. No need to make a whole episode about it! I wish Juliet would go bad and shoot her in the head (but we know that ain't gonna happen - stupid tension breaking flashforwards!!). If the writers were smart they would make her the female lead and wipe out the entire rest of the useless female cast. They have a serious problem writing and maintaining strong female characters - just look at Sun *smacks forehead*

The love triangle junk continues to piss me off (and has since season 1). Jesus, get over this shit already.

The ending with the dramatic reveal music was hilarious. I can't believe people thought she said Eric, even though the writers and Michael Giacchino were sledgehammering into our skulls who her son was all episode.

Only real redeeming moment was Locke's grenade sandwich for Miles. :lol

Well there are plenty of people who like the female cast, just because you don't like them means they should be wiped out? Sorry, I don't see where you're going with that.

1. Lostpedia
2. Right-click, save-as
3. ???
4. Profit?!?

They're not releasing much info on the Lost game that's out next week. I haven't heard anything in a while. I hope it's at least worthy of a rental. :/

I also thought it was obvious the baby was going to be Claire's.

For some reason I thought there would be something freaky about the kid though.

I liked the episode overall. I am getting annoyed at Comcast though. They lose the audio for a second at least 2 times every Lost broadcast. Not the best show for this shit to happen on. :(

There's no way I'd be able to just rent that. It'd be like only watching an episode of Lost once.

Ludicrous.

Ok, maybe not "wipe out", but they could certainly cull some of the useless characters. Claire, Sun, Rose are basically interchangeable at this point. They all bore me to death. They are basically props that spout a few cringewothy lines every now and then and disappear into the background until the next time Jack returns from wherever and they all run screaming toward him to grovel and kiss his feet. That's without mentioning Kate. The show would be much better without her shitting it up even more.

The writers haven't even satisfyingly mined Charlie's demise for all its drama. After the laughable initial reaction (which was made all about Hurley) Claire is all perfectly happy, smiling and laughing. I mean, if you aren't gonna take advantage of a big event like that and create some believable non-sappy character drama, why even keep her around?

My favorite thing about this episode is that the story of Kate as a fugitive is finally 100% over. We know what she did, we saw her go to trial, and we saw the verdict. Even if one were interested in the story(I was not), I don't think anyone could deny they dragged it through a few flashbacks too many. Now that it has ended, they can't do that anymore, and I am happy.

Next week's episode is written by Cuse/Lindelof and directed by Jack Bender, so it should be great.

But, I mean, shouldn't you be psyched then? If Kate has Aaron now what other possible outcome is there besides Claire's head in the fridge?

:lol Yes, i am kinda psyched. :D

Kate, however, is like Claire x1,000,000 on the annoying scale, so Claire dying won't help all that much.

Ah, I see. I'm the opposite. I've always felt Claire was pretty much the most useless character on the island.

Does anyone have a screencap of the kid when Kate woke him up? I swear I thought he looked like he had Down Syndrome. I'd be really disappointed if that were a plot device, so I'm hoping it's just my own confusion.

The grenade-for-breakfast was so cool, but I bet it turns out to be just a dud. Locke can screw with people's minds, too.

I was thinking the same thing at the beginning of that scene, but I guess he was just groggy from his nap.

I wanted Miles to spit it out towards Locke.

My thoughts exactly. Locke isn't stupid or crazy enough to risk using a live grenade on his hostage.

You're insulting that child!

lol. I don't think Lost is going to delve into anything as serious as Down's syndrome.

Yup. I always felt like Claire existed solely to give Charlie something to do... and well, Charlie's dead now.

I thought I saw the same thing at first, but as soon as I saw more of Aaron, I realized it was just an odd camera angle. My first thought was that Jack and Kate had a Down Syndrome baby, and that was why Jack didn't want to see the baby... and I was thinking... "Wow, Jack is an asshole."

Anyone care to speculate on why Daniel has suddenly lost his memory and cannot remember 3 cards?

maybe he already had short-term memory lost or some sort of memory impairment? and they are experimenting with cards to see if the island has healing properties or not and see if is memory problem will be fixed on the island.

My first reaction was

"The baby is fat, I wonder if its Hurleys"

So what is the deal with Jack and Kate anyway? I mean does he think he deserves to fuck everyone on the planet or have anyone? I thought he loved Juliet? Or doesn't he?

it's just seems odd they the media coverage would revolved around the OCEANIC SIX but not mention a goddamn baby was rescued from the island as well.
Well, we have no clue about the actual media coverage of it; we haven't seen the actual rescue or anything along those lines.

He said when the plane crashed only 8 of them survived. That's false there were 42survivors. My guess on this is the following:

- The rest of the people wanted to stay on the island so he said 8 so that they wouldn't go looking for the other survivors.

- 8 is because 6 survived, 1 is known to be dead and the other one is a mistery
My guess is that they left the others there; why else would Hurley and Jack be wracked with guilt over leaving?

It would also make sense (given the way that Jack was acting about him) that they either a) took Aaron against Claire's will or b) took Aaron without Claire even knowing about it.

It makes no sense that Jack would be so upset he couldn't even see the baby if Claire had just died and they took care of him, especially in exchange for being with the person he's in love with, since Kate was obviously down as long as Jack would come to her house. The only way I see that scenario is the implausible scenario that Jack killed Claire, which seems a bit overwrought to me, even for Lost.

Couple of thoughts:

- The world must believe that Aaron is Kate's biological son - she wouldn't have been able to adopt Aaron after getting off the island in her legal situation.

- This basically confirms that time dialation is going on as the world must now believe that Kate came to term while on the island. Likely their story is that she was conceived their as well.

- The world must believe that they were castaways that were on the island for many months, perhaps a couple of years.

- Most likely Claire wasn't one of the +2 original surviors that were part of Jack's story, They wouldn't want to even suggest that Aarron could possibly be any other's child but Kate's. My bet is that they're claiming Sawyer as the father.

Is it me or does the voice on the satellite phone sound a lot like Naomi? What's the deal?

-duh
-yes
-yes
-no, the question to Jack if he loves Kate leads me to believe their story is that Jack is the father.

Don't know if this was posted yet, but Cane has officially been cancelled.

This means we may see Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) this season. (!!!)

confirmed.

I was rewatching The Economist last night and I saw "Guest Starring Zoe Bell" and thought, what, I don't remember her in the episode.

Makes sense.

I wonder if we'll ever see her?

I hope we get to see the "temple" to which he was taking the others.

Heh, that was kind of my first reaction to. Either that or the kid was stuck in a perpetual yawn.

Unlikely. The producers said this season will be focused entirely on the "freighter folk" and the events happening in the future.

Here's hoping the writers can write him into the season in time; I also hope the actor is free to come back (he's a big shot now).

1) Yes.
2) No, it doesn't. The world doens't know what Kate was doing before the island becuase she was on the lam; as far as the world at large knows, she was 6 months pregnant prior to going on the island, and we have no clue how much more time she'll be on the island.
3) Not sure where this conclusion is being drawn from.
4) My guess is they're claiming that some random person she met in Australia before they left is the father, but again, we dont' know what the total time they will be on the island is.

We are going to the freighter very soon, so we definitely will.

Maybe we'll see some other familiar faces there, as well. :D

Oh and BTW Does anyone know why Charlotte and Daniel do not care that Miles is held hostage in Locke's camp?

Don't get me wrong, I love the character... but Miles seems like an abrasive asshole. I'm sure he doesn't have too many friends. That might have something to with it.

Zoe Bell is the voice on the other end of the line when Charlotte calls the ship, I beleive. She also answered when Faraway called to get the rocket sent at him too, which is why she was credited then. As stated of course. She's a stuntwoman, mostly. I wonder if she'll fall off a cliff through a table or something. :lol

Seriously, is there any better way to pick up chicks than "I'm a professional stuntman"

I'm guessing its Jack's fault (or at least he blames himself) for Claire's death?

That's assuming it is her baby.

i think its pretty obvious its claire's baby aaron...look at how they ended the episode with it. they wouldnt do that and then later be like"! remember that shocking ending? we were kidding."

2) Kate was in custody when she was on the plane. Her being as pregnant as Claire is something that would've likely have been noticed and noted.
3) To the outside world, enough time must have passed for her story to be believable.
