Wait a god damn minute. So if they stop themselves from crashing on the island, then how can they travel back in time and stop themselves from crashing on the island?

*head explodes*

Oh boy that speech of his seems exactly what I've been thinking about Widmore is trying to do. He didn't get on the boat to go back to the Island in 2004 because he never wants to have never been sent away in the first place. :lol

But then they never go to the island to STOP the energy from releasing. So it does release. So then they CAN go to the island to stop it from releasing. And so forth.

This is why you don't do time travel as a major plot device.
Well, I think there's a reason why he's crying over 815 outside that it's "sad."

Unless of course...they stick with the rule that Whatever happened, happened....ten minutes left, lets see where this goes....

Daniel: "I gonna detonate a hydrogen bomb."

Me, sitting on couch: *begins clapping furiously like a five-year-old* "Hahahahaha! Yaaaay! Yaaaay!" :lol

Clearly, Kate and perhaps Jack stop him from doing it. What do they have to go back to?

if, for whatever reason, that h bomb goes off, season 6 is gonna be very different.

it'll just be a 30 minute wacky sitcom with Hurley spending his millions on various wacky schemes

i would watch that

There in lies why his plan won't happen.

Probably some bizzaro explanation that Daniel was already among the others and did it as a kid? If he does that in 1977 did the piano scene ever happen? This show is so fucking crazy. :lol

Reason = part of him realizes that that event causes him to lose Charlotte...because he has been through the "loop" sooooo many times.

Edit: Wild speculation of course.

I don't think Daniels gonna actually be able to follow through with his plan...

Edit: Whatever Happened, Happened.

LaFleur doesn't killed the Others attacking the woman, Dharma retaliates, war starts between Dharma and the Others. Dharma get wiped out. Drilling never happens.

Something tells me Daniel may not be making it through this.

It is following the pattern as far as flashbacks go unfortunately. Starting a show with a child flashback isn't a good sign.

For such a normally smart guy, why has faraday not understood the very foundation of time travel? This is weak.

Thats what Im thinking. Whatever he does to try and stop the incident probably IS the incident. They cant stop themselves from getting to the island then non of this happens which means they wouldnt be able to stop themselves in the first place.

The world itself would collapse upon itself... in a sense.

Well, he has up until now. But he used that "we're the variables" thing like it was some sort of loophole. : /

:'(

How do you not show a charcter for so long, build up his return then kill him off the moment he comes back?

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

This whole episode was basically shit we already guessed/knew.
