SPOILERS AHEAD

From Ausiello at TV Guide.com:

Question: The preview for tonight's Lost was intense. Please tell me Sawyer is going to be OK!— Shannon
Ausiello: Sawyer's not the one you should be worrying about. (Spoiler Alert!) Next week, a major character (as in a series regular) whose name is not Sawyer will join Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia and Libby in the big island in the sky. And you're not going to believe who it is. I won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.

SWEET.

Jacks pulling a henry gale there, trying to cause some conflict over whos really in charge.

That was awesome...I hate that chick. I hope Jack's subterfuge causes a disruption.

Did I miss something last week? I know they were complaining about things, but I don't remember anything about Jack's tent.

It would be really strange for it to be him, because that character has barely been present so far this season. Unless he's got movie offers rolling in that people haven't heard about, or wants to away from Hawaii. I'd rather it be Charlie...

It can't be
Eko. Eko
hasn't been that major of a player for everyone to freak out. It will piss me off, but I'm guessing it's someone a lot more prominent.

Folks, if you're going to discuss alleged spoilers from future episodes, at least blacken them. C'mon. The only stuff that shouldn't be spoilered here right now are details from 3x03 and earlier.

There doesn't seem to be much excitement for this episode on here for today for some reason.... usually around this time in the thread it's a bit active. It's Wednesday isn't it?

Yup. Considering it's on in 2 hours, the lack of excitement is odd. A lot of people have been put off by this fairly uneventful season so far.

GAF hates TV. There hasn't be an offcial Office thread in 2 weeks :(

Ya Lost again, the week goes by so fast nowdays. Its so tempting to read all the spoilers you guys have posted, damn you guys.

I don't think it's the lack of "events".. i'd even wager that is has everything to do with too much happening. It's all so scatterbrained. Nothing is grounded or connected. There is a lack of cohesion and that has prevented viewers (read: me) from even attempting to guess what could be coming next. The first two seasons at least gave you red herrings and misdirection. This season has so far left us clueless.

I can't even begin to guess what is going to happen to Jack, Kate and Sawyer. I see no way out for them and nor do I see the Others revealing anything of great import.. they are not in a position to. We seem to get more from the camera than we do from dialogue.

The spiritual/mystical transformations of Locke and Desmond also open up even more doors. I have no guesses as to what lies ahead of them.

As it stands there is only one motivating plotline: rescue Jack, Sawyer and Kate. Once we get into that (which I guess will start with this episode) then maybe more people will be actively involved in LOST discussions but right now all we have is vapor, very little to actually hold on to and digest.

It shall be Kate. I don't think she's that interesting anymore anyway. :)

Better not be. She and Sawyer need to **** before one of them gets offed anyway. And who are the more interesting females left? Claire is oretty useless and adds nothing. But theyd never kill her off because of her baby.

What?

A LOT has been given to us thus far - people expecting answers to be spoonfed to them are better off watching something else.

And the podcasts are excellent and really revealing - Damon and Carlton basically have outright said that
Benjamin Linus was on the island before the Dharma Initiative arrived.
(minor spoiler)

He said it better.

There's a lot of information, but little of it makes sense. We don't have much to base any solid assumptions on.

I guess everybody figured they'd get the ball rolling quicker on this whole escape thing. I talked to a friend of mine last Friday who I haven't really talked to since the season began and the first thing he said to me was "Man, have you been watching Lost? It sucks ass!", and I suppose on first blush you could say it has. He's pretty knowledgable when it comes to film and things like that, so it's not like he doesn't get a show like Lost (He loved the 1st 2 seasons), I think it's just a matter of what the above poster said: Nothing is really connected yet, they're all just happening. Things are starting up and it sucks that they're gonna stop again so soon.

I like the season so far, but hopefully it really picks up soon, because it's not reached the level the past seasons have reached at this point yet.

I think part of the problem is filling 24 episodes without giving away too much. If you look at where Season 2 started and where it ended, it's an amazing season with a great story. But pulled out over, what, 9 months it starts to look awfully thin. This is THE DVD tv show.

It's moving too slow for what is going to be only six episodes until February. I can't be surprised by a ratings decline. The other thing is with the 19 minutes of commercials and flashbacks that aren't too interesting (the Sun & Jin stuff was good) you get about 26 minutes of things actually happening on the island. I wish this show was on HBO.

I swear this is the only show on basic television that somehow gets slammed for having commercial interruptions. It's been there since day one, deal with it. No one likes commercials or prefers watching shows with them included, but it's not going to change. If you can't handle it, record the damn show and speed through the commercials. Or buy the episodes off iTunes. Or wait for the DVDs. Whatever. Bitch about the actual show all you want, but bitching about it via the medium is really just stupid.

HOLY SHIT

It's on at 8pm in Toronto so I'm halfway through this week's episode....

There is definately some escalation so far. Pretty exciting ep so far.

Just watch it on ABC.com Only 90 seconds of commericals! And I've heard people say that the commercials feel longer, but it's the same if you watch it on ABC.com, they're all 42-45 minutes long, just like the first 2 seasons.

Oh right, I forgot 8 PM isn't when it's usually on. :lol That explains how quiet this thread is.

Anyway, 45 mins in (In toronto)..I really like it.

SHIT. The episode was a roller coaster. THINGS WERE HAPPENING. EVENTS WERE TAKING PLACE. THE STATUS QUO WAS GOING TO CHANGE. And then, in the last ten minutes, we're back to zero. Nothing changed, no new info was gained, no advancement of the story. Zip, zilch, zero. Disappointing.

Pretty cool reveal at the end of this episode. Nothing groundshaking (I'm not expecting anything MAJOR until the 6th episode), but I felt satisfied after this episode. That's just my opinion, we'll probably still have our fair share of bitchers in here tonight.

Edit: the best part of tonight's episode? The one scene with Spanish Male Model cast member. Oh you're so dreamy... What're you doing on the show? I hope the Others shoot him before we find out his backstory that makes us feel sorry for him.

Satisfying is a good way of putting it. The episode does a good job at playing with power relationships in a satisfactory manner, and while it doesn't do as good a job as building momentum as I would have liked it does give us some rather nice glimpses of different things.

I do hope that the next two episodes do a good job of getting to some sort of climax, though.

As for Rodrigo, I think that he's there to, in some capacity, provide a contrary opinion; a voice for the people who don't see the point anymore.

That being said,
why is no one talking about where Sayid/Sun/Jin are at this stage? There's just too much going on, I hope they bring everything together for the Fall Finale.
