Lost Odyssey hype thread 2 (new info, staff summary, ultimate pre-official thread)

cleavage exposure is pretty high... Im guessing the glasses chick is the main love interest..as the harp girl is the love interest to the tall bumbly guy.

Old geezer is my fave looking character so far...the blood haired guy reminds me of Ussop for some reason...perhaps the way he holds the sword
 
Wasnt there going to be some special event just for this game on November 6?
 
Sed is such a lame name, they should have thought of something better for LO's Cid.

I'm sure Kain's got a couple sprouts rolling around the playground as well....

...then again...if Cloud can hold off on bangin' Tifa in Advent Children just to sit on top of mountains alone with his motorcycle, I suppose anything's possible with these JRPG characters...
 
The pure white of the Japanese box really suits the 360 header. Too often it ruins a lot of boxes.

US boxart seems a bit too busy - not surprisingly. Publishers here are always trying to cram too much in. That said, if they wanted more color detail, I would of went fewer items of focus.

Hard to say. Still borders on being too busy, especially with the 360 header ruining it.

The game has some incredible beautiful art to utilize though. Using what looks like a typical city vista is a bit underwhelming.

Some of those makes this game seem really interesting I like the sound of the skill link thing, plus I like the way they've made the bulk achievements to clear the disc.

Might be like the achievements in Skies of Arcadia. After a while if you don't get one your rival will find it instead.

Anyway, LO's sounding better and better ever time I hear something, can't wait for this! :D

I think the music in Lost Odyssey is fantastic, I want to hear some more.
 
Oh god Blue Dragon achivements, had a blister on my thumb from getting the first one.

Gave up on trying to get them after that.
 
I think I ended up completing Blue Dragon with like 60 points. I was not happy. :lol Thank god LO's sound much more balanced.
I mean easy :P
 
I still think Mistwalker is getting the points distribution wrong. Although you'll be getting 500 points for free just beating the game, it still looks like a fucking pain to earn the other 500. You'll be doing tons and tons of high-end stuff just to earn what... 10-20 points each? Seems pretty unfair. They should instead distribute it such that the effort is equavilent to the point reward at least. :lol

Nah, actually it says "explore all fields in the world, including secret areas". No idea why I said world map lolz. Sorry to disappoint.

Well I thought it all went well until I guarded those wagons fine up until I nearly reached the castle and one rat came out of nowhere and hit one. Then I went in the BD thread and realised I think it was blim saying you get an achievement for getting perfect, needless to say I was annoyed then there's the dragons, piloting airship and king poo... Anyway i'n feeling really good about this one and can only hope the getting all items achievement isn't as hard as it sounds to me.

This sounds a LOTTTTTTTTTTTTT better than BD's, and much cooler. The only thing missing, to me, is the points for beating the super-secret-omega-zomg-ultra boss. (King Poo in BD)

Okay, the event on 19 draws near it appears the lead Japanese voices have been revealed. Playing Kaim is Japanese actor Etsuji Toyokawa, with two other announced so far - the actor Kosuke Toyohara and actress and ex-Speed member Takako Uehara. It appears that Lost Odyssey is aiming for using real actors and actresses for major roles as opposed to voice actors, is this something we can expect to hold true for the english voices as well? :)

The ads look pretty decent. It's a shame they won't do any good. :lol

And yea, if BD's english VA is anything to go buy, I'll stick to the JPN voices thank you very much.
 
Honestly, LO seems to have far better english voice work from the few clips we've seen. I actually like both the Japanese and English Kaims just about equally. Slightly different qualities to their character from inflection, weight, intonation, delivery, etc. and both sound pretty good from what little I've heard so far.

well from what I've heard from the English VA, especially Seth's voice, it all sounded good to me. Miles better than that of Blue Dragon's.

That's just the concert though. At the same location before the concert there's going to be a Lost Odyssey Premier Event.
 
Ah, I didn't actually read any releases. just assumed it was altogether.
