The lights dimmed, then blue spotlights came on. Girls came out and handed out lined windbreakers...and then compressed air sprayed out (it was loud as fuck) and lowered the temprature...we were then treated to the trailer. It looks amazing...lots of great CG...but then...

"Everything is real-time."

One of the capcom presenters then started to play the game on a 360...it was...

...wow...

DESTRUCTION! MECHA! GIANT FUCKING BUGS!

I'll write up something more proper in a while, but jeez. It looks great, and a lot of the things in it just look like they work perfectly.

...then we got to see it in real time again...

...and it was GOOD...Starship Troopers (novel) + The Thing + Aliens = awesomeness!

IGN has write up, too bad it's 2007 game now.

The final game will include at least 12 single player missions, in addition to a few more online. For its online component, Capcom is shooting for 32 person servers where players can engage in battle with deathmatch, capture the flag as well as other modes. If the 32 person limit is not achieved, it will be at the very least 16. A cooperative mode will also be available for play on Xbox Live. It's clear Capcom is putting a lot of effort into this game. So far, that effort clearly shows. Lost Planet is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2007.

Gh! If anyone could tell me how I can compress a quicktime video (outside of pro because I ain't buyin' that), I could get this done a whole lot quicker--filefront's choking on 300mb.

Looks awesome. I'm excited for any game that reminds me of the insanely cold, snowy wasteland I suffered through walking to my bank today. -33c? If I had had a mech it wouldn't have bothered me at all. :|
