Lost Soul Aside |OT| Souls-free Action

Is there a pc demo ? Because they have been touting a lot of pc specific upgrades.

Yeah this screams a wait for sale. Especially with next week being a big week for games. Fight the FOMO.

Tried the demo, love my hack and slashes but no way am I paying full price for this.. It just feels, off. I had more fun with ultra age lol and that's saying something

I didnt like it. There are some things that truly annoy me, like a minimap in linear levels or a chatty companion. I can forgive the so-so graphics, but the floaty controls is a no-no. It feels like fighting in low-gravity and hits are weightless. At some point I got killed without even noticing.

Pass.

Beat the demo now. I am having a better time now that I understand the mechanics more.

You can end bosses relatively fast if you learn their moveset. Because you'll remember what combos will have blue aura attacks for parry and eventually the timing to do it. You can also do a finisher during the super attack L2+R2 move to extend the punishment and delete health bars pretty fast. And the L2+face button Arena specials help out too.

Also, charging the attack button gives different attacks. Both on the ground and in the air. the straight sword launch, hold attack in the air is pretty cool. The ground one from the straight sword seems to deplete the shield meter nicely.

The best feature though, it seems you can fucking cancel everything. I was in the middle of some special move, saw the boss go blue and I parried its attack with O. You can also fire back projectiles with O, it insta kills those snake guys.

The level design is nothing special, but it isn't bloated. The weird thing is the many times the game takes over control as if this game was designed 20 years ago. Then all of a sudden you're thrown into a short hoverboard section that doesn't really work well and a linear running section. Its a bit odd.

Other than that you're pretty much thrown into trash mob group battles and then a boss battle. Talk to the chick to resplenish heals, even though you can't use any of the features in her menu. Combat is really fun. The problem is the price tag, esp. in Europe. 70 is a bit steep.

I love hack n slash games, the problem is the price tag. Nothing about the game seems to justify it, from either the content or the production.

I finished the demo and pre-ordered the game two weeks ago. It was on sale in some European stores for €30.^^ I'm having fun with it, but something feels really strange. The basic framework is there, but the final touches in terms of quality are missing. It feels like a B-movie game, but for me, it's still better than FFXVI and XVI.

Watching some playthrough and decided will get it on sale, liana's design is top notch and did it for me. The devs got their priority right for the little recourses they get.

Combat mechanics are 100x better than those. Its no weird semi auto combat like FFXV and you do actual damage with normals unlike XVI. Better aerials and better evade system too.

Level design has some verticality and it seems loot is actually useful.

I like the game more than both turds, but its obviously made on a budget and by an inexperienced team.

I just tried the demo and... This sucks.

The combat feels weightless and generic, the graphics seems like a cheap asset flip, the art style looks basically from a generic manhua and the voice acting is straight from a c tier ps2 era jrpg.

Remember Stellar blade? The voice acting for English was bad but the game was fantastic. SB was my 2024 game of the year. Let us not judge a game base from voice actors. But to be honest, I laugh listening to that video.😆
I'm not dunking on a game or anything like that, I just stumbled on this while browsing online and found it so hilarious I thought it was worth sharing lol

I'll be playing this today, starting an hour from now.

I went for Shinobi instead.

LSA has to be one of the, or perhaps THE lowest budget retail PS5 game out there. I would say Star Ocean 6 had better production values and VA.

I really don't understand why Sony is offering this for 70 euros in a world where Clair Obscur is being offered for 50. CO has infinitely better production values from graphics to animations to VA to everything under the sun. LSA is looks cheap as fuck.

This video is kind of fun:

Its actually true; what city is it, who are you, who are they?

That fall is in the demo and I keep on watching it since.

Its slowly creeping up to become one of the best cutscenes of the year because of how hilariously terrible it is. Why is she screaming too? lmao

As expected. Mid game, overpriced thanks to Sony tax. Will wait for the price to drop to below 30 in like...3 months? Wheres the idiot who celebrated that chinese games are the future of Sony?

I am really looking forward to reviews. I think the action gameplay is okay (only the combat, the on-rail stuff sucks ass and idk if there is more), thats the one boon it has over Mindseye. For the rest they seem to be not that different in terms of overall functionality, tech etc. They both look incredibly cheap.

I have been watching footage. I can't believe Sony is charging 70 euros for this
They really should embrace more diverse price points. South of Midnight was $40 with way higher polish levels than this game. Oblivion remastered, Clair Obscur, Wuchang, etc. According to some of the leaks in previous threads, even the developers knew they were getting hung out to dry at this price point. It's clearly a AA game, and there's a market for that if priced appropriately.

Thats exactly the problem. That this game looks like an early PS4 game wouldn't really matter if it was marketed and priced accordingly as a lower budget game. At 40 it wouldn't get as much backlash as it will now. In a world with Wuchang, CO etc there is zero justification for its current RRP except Sony tax.

But because of the high price I might've dodged a bullet. I'm not going to impulse buy something at 69 E's.

This isn't getting full price from me.

Flashy but floaty combat, with last gen graphics. Parries and block feels pretty bad.

Trailers made the game look way better than it actually looks in my opinion.

Like I said, it's bond to hit PS Plus, that's when I'll possibly be playing it.

As a corporation, you can't "justify" your price increases in big budgets and then charge full price for extremely low cost games. That message falls apart. There is a range of 30-40 eur/usd that everyone now understands as the tier for "premium indies" or AA. This game should be 25-30, max. Something like Code Vein or AI Limit (which are both much better games).

Glad there was a demo. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. The particle effects are a visual onslaught but not in a good way. The characters and what little is show of the story aren't compelling either. The action is decent at best. It's often hard to tell what's happening due to camera issues and the explosions of glitter and lights constantly with every sword swing.

Downloading the demo.
Will check it out when I get home, though based on the comments here I expect this will be a "get on a deep sale, if at all" kind of game .

Oh my god, lol.

Lol this makes me slightly more interested.
If videogame stories aren't good they should at least be so bad they are funny.

It's why Stranger of Paradise had a more meorable plot than any FF since like 12
