Lost The Video game = PURE GARBAGE !

See, I can sort of understand plowing through a shitty licensed game if the story is canon (I suffered through 24 just for the story) but if Lost isn't canon, doesn't the game just amount to bad interactive fan fiction?

True. They really dropped the ball on this one.

b...b...but, wait !

It can't be BAD !

It's from

Even if it isn't canon we still get to see some of the less or never explored locations, the one I am interested in is seeing what is behind the concrete wall in the Swan.

We received our copies at work and I got to play 3 or 4 missions. First of all, this game is short, and by that I mean really short. There are only 6 missions but you can beat the missions in 30 min. Graphics are OK but lots of tearing going on even if you are standing still. The voice acting is just messed up. Locke sounds like a 20 year old guy and Charlie sounds like a British guy. Gameplay is all over the place. There's no exploring, you basically have to do whatever they tell you to do. For example, you lost your camera and you go to the wreck and you find it and you go back to the beach and they give you a new task.

I'm a huge Lost fan but the game just doesn't make sense. Nothing feels right and the storyline so far has nothing to do with Lost the TV show.

ask questions if you want.
A better game would have been called "LOST: Season One" and would have taken you through the 24 episodes of that season and licensed the Uncharted engine and basically been the same thing as Uncharted, but with Lost characters.

Should have made a Lost MMO instead. Besides being the latest trend, it seems like the best game genre for a show that basically sucks its audience in then goes around and around forever repeating similar and drawn out content which everyone willingly puts themselves through only to be rewarded with small tokens that only serve to be superseded the next week or month or whatever by something bigger, better or more interesting.

Has there ever been a good game that has come out along with the movie release? Or in this case tv series game?

Riddick for Xbox was good. Spider-Man 2 (PS2/Xbox/GCN) wasn't bad. TMNT for GBA was decent too.

But no one is expecting Lost to be good.

In issue #11 of the Official Lost Magazine (July/August 2007) Damon Lindelof was asked in its 'Pearls of Wisdom' Q&A section: "How is the Lost video game looking from what you've seen?" He replied: "From what I've seen? RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME!"
From the Wiki page.

Damon Lindelof am blind confirmed.

Was going to get Lost this week, but I'll wait until it's $30. $60 is WTF since the PC version is $30.

I'll get Turning Point instead, it has Nazis. And shooting Nazis gives it an edge over Lost. Lost has no Nazis.

A friend of mine said he thought it was ok and worth looking at if your a lost fan which is fine by me. Didnt expect asowme so wont be dissapointed, but like many lost fans im looking forward to just running around the island and the gfx look far from rubbish in the videos i have seen.

All the old infocom games could be solved in a couple of hours, assuming none of the puzzles stumped you for a couple of weeks. :lol

Are the puzzles stumpers or easy?

Not surprised.

Blind isn't far from the truth. Have you listened to his podcasts? He has his head so far up his own ass, he wouldn't be able to give a proper evaluation on anything.

No offense, but I think I'll rent it and judge for myself rather than taking the word of someone who thought it was a mistake that Charlie sounded British.

This game's poor quality doesn't surprise me in the least.

I've played exactly one good TV show game in my day, and that was Konami's Simpsons arcade game.

Ehhh... that xbox buffy game was surprisingly not horrible. But I guess its source material made for good game qualities anyway.

I do like the Simpsons arcade game, but shoehorning of a licence much?
and you missed the more obvious comparison there of the TMNT arcade game

I consider TMNT to be a game based off of a comic book, since the comic is the original source material for the Turtles.

The Simpsons arcade game was actually surprisingly close to the source material, given the subject matter of the game. Smithers was probably much more evil in the game than he ever was in the show, though.

You guys are all nuts. LOST is effing brilliant. Just check out these ĂĽber-scores from the pointless site called

Seriously, this game looked bad from the very start, how the hell can somebody like this bullshit storyline?

I personally think that LOST is the weakest television crap since... Well, ever. I have never seen something as silly for a long time. They could squeeze the entire storyline into a single episode of Twilight Zone for all I care.

Holy shit, that review screengrab is real, I just checked.

WOW. :lol

You know he probably finished the game in 3 hours cause he's a reviewer..He has to finish the game to get his review out right when the embargo lifts so his site is the first to have the review up.

I watch it for the comedy factor. I think it's hillarious how they keep piling on random stuff under the guise of being "deep" and "mysterious".

One thing I'd like to mention, which I plan to put in my review - The characters have the right behaviours, views and characteristics, but the game is too eager to show them. On the second day after the crash, Michael is like "I'm building a raft, I gotta look after my son!", Locke is in a tree saying "Everything on this island, happens for a reason" and Sawyer is trading torches with you - it's almost like an over the top parody of the show.

And when Charlie sings "You all Everybody", with his static, lifeless stare transfixed at you, its probably the scariest thing ever.

Thanks for the impressions dude.

But in light of the "I beated the game in 3 hours LOLZ" commentary, I shall await other opinions.

For me, I didn't count, but it was probably about 6. I didn't actually explore as much as I could, which really is the esscene of the game (and the achievements) Saying you beat the game in 3 hours is like saying you beat Shenmue without picking up any capsule toys, speaking to random people or exploring the world.

as they say, garbage in garbage out
amirite? :lol
i've only seen a few episodes of lost and i think it sucks so the game sucking isn't a surprise.

Thats like saying all sports games suck because i dont like sports. From what i have been told off people who like the show fans will get something from it, it isnt fantastic and can be frustrating but if your a fan of the show you will get something out of it. Also this is a budget price title in the uk ÂŁ28 instead of upto ÂŁ50 on other new releases so its worth it to fans of the show.

uh oh. Doesn't look good for Far Cry 2.

Oh don't worry, the creative team on the Lost title was pretty much the worst Ubisoft Montreal has.(from what I've heard)

Far Cry 2 is the kind of title they don't want to be a quick cash-in.

Don't worry, it's in good hands.

quick cash in? this was announced in April of 06.

well, its not THAT bad. friend and i finished it a week ago.. its short, yes, but there are games out there which are more horrible than this one, going by games with a movie/series license. i found the part
with the caves pretty cool, getting all dark and shit. running through the jungle gave me some shocks when suddenly someone startet to shoot at me

This is the worst defense ever! You are not making me want to play this :( However after reading the britishgamingblog review I think I'll get it eventually, since I'm one of those sucker Lost fans who'll buy it regardless.

In other news, fire is quite hot, the Pacific ocean has been reported to be wet, and some birds are likely to fly at some point today, though it's doubtful any of them will be dodos.

McBacon said:
Have you ever played Dreamfall? You know, how the gameplay was terrible but you still played it all the way through to see the story?

No. Because once it became clear that the gameplay wasn't going to get any less shitty I stopped playing it and read a book instead.
