LTTP: Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

Great little film! These are the kinds of movies we miss today. Everything is an event film or a property we all already know.

Be excellent to each other!

There was a most excellent comic adaptation by Marvel in the early 90s. They did the second movie, and then 12 issues of their own original stuff. The tone matches the movies and the art is some spectacular 90s cartooning.

The best part is that the comics were reissued a year or so ago and you can buy it on Amazon right now!

I swear I'm not a cooperate shill. I found the Bogus Adventure issue at an antique store, thought it was funny there was a Bill & Ted comic, and bought it. I only watched the sequel once so I didn't remember much of it. The comic was hilarious, and I really dug the artstyle. Then I found out Boom! Studios was doing a rerelease of the whole run, and preordered it right away. Highly recommend. Comes in a nice hardcover. The print quality isn't HD because something about how they could only manage to scan some older comics and clean it up the best they could. I still think it looks great, but I also don't mind reading old comics on cheap paper stock, so whatever. Don't let it stop you from a great run of comics though!

There are brand new Bill & Ted comics coming out now (since last year), but I haven't read any of them. It's not the original team from '91, and reviews state that they just aren't as good (in comparison to both the original movies and the old comics). Kind of a shame, but maybe the quality will get better later on? Who knows.

Bought.

Thanks for this. I had no idea this stuff had been collected.

These guys. Most triumphant aesthetic.

Favorite Death line:

What about me, I made the wigs? I helped with the shop-ping. I was pushing the cart!

Something that has always bugged me about this movie.

During the end when Bill and Ted are doing their thing on stage. They cut away to the kids in the audience a few times. Once time these kids are shown eating like little ice cream cups with wooden spoons.

Where the fuck did they get those? And why are they eating in the first place?

One more thing!

"DeNomolos, my old teacher."

"Rufus, my favorite pupil."

*THE ENTIRE REST OF THE MOVIE*

"This is Chuck DeNomolos, my old gym teacher."

WHAT A FUCKIN' PAYOFF

I think it is pudding in small cans that they are eating. The historical figures ate it when the time machine broke and they needed to fix the antenna. They probably passed it out during the show when one of them was sharing their experiences of modern life (off camera).

Thanks! That makes since. I bet they filmed a scene doing that and it got cut.

Bill is Alex Winters and Ted is Keanu Reeves. I always mix them up too and have to imagine them introducing themselves.

Both movies are amazing. Best part is they're completely different movies. The first one is about time travel. The second is about the afterlife. They don't recycle anything and the new characters are a really nice addition. Even the time machine is upgraded.

Death is the GOAT character. He has all the best lines.

*walking passed customer smoking a cigarette*
"See you soon!"

"What about my butt? I work out."

"Best of 7?"
"DAMN RIGHT!"

"They Melvin'd me!"
