so i picked this up for christmas and though i have to say i was a little sceptic about it at first i have to say it's quite starting to grow on me,the exploration is awesome, the graphics are cute & clean and the music pretty much rocks
my only wish for the game would be a better use of costumes though it's still pretty fun to see people react in a different manner based on how you are dressed

I love Chibi Robo!

I wish Skip would give us information on Park Patrol. It was supposed to be out this year, but we haven't heard anything since E3.

My favorite game on the GC.
I agree. It's my GOTY.

It seemed to start out as a repetitive chore-a-thon, but then it really came into its own with a great cast of Toy Story-like characters and a charming storyline.

Its gonna be 9.99$ at TRU starting dec. 26th, along with a bunch of other games.

I might pick it up

My Dad and my Mom are ridiculously in love with this game. They're surprised I don't have it yet haha.

If the DS one ever comes out I'll probably give my dad my old DS so he can play it.

Do it. I paid full price and would gladly do so again. $9.99 is a steal.

Also, writing "Chib" on the Wii auto-completes to Chibi-Robo. Wii sequel am confirmed!

One of the best adventure games this generation -- and that includes the Zeldas and Okamis and the like. Truly fantastic game.

One of the most underrated games of the generation, IMO.

Agreed. It's sick how much this game is underrated, how quickly and entirely it's been written off.

Actually... I thought Park Patrol was kinda meh-ish at E3. :/

Which is a shame, because I was one of the most hyped people on GAF when koam leaked the news of its announcement right before E3 started.

Now if they'd just give us Giftpia!

Ah, geez. I'm still upset/mad/annoyed/disappointed about Giftpia's US release being cancelled. I loved everything I saw and read on that game.

At least we've got (I think) good odds of getting whatever Skip makes next, say, for the Wii.

This is also one of my favorite Gamecube games. It's so full of heart and charm, it always puts a smile on my face when I play it. I can't think of many other games that have that effect.

This makes me happy. I will purchase said game. I loved what I played but only spent a few hours with it.

It's probably one of the best Gamecube games ever. It's all very fantastic. I just still can't believe how the whole family issues started to really make the house seem more alive.

Unexpected love for Chibi Robo here. The last board I was on generally hated the game, so I figured that was the popular consensus. Despite that, I bought it and loved it.

I'd love for a full fledged Wii sequel.

Eh, it's a demo of a game that apparently wasn't very complete (since we haven't even gotten a release date) .. I'm not going to lose hype.

Bought it on day one, played it for about a week solid (probably close to twenty hours' worth of exploring and discovering the house), and I never touched it again. Why? Good question. It's one of my favorite GCN games ever, and I'll finish it... eventually.

It was a demo, yeah, but it was a very bland demo (I'm trying hard not to outright call it "bad" just out of the respect I have for Skip and for Chibi Robo on GameCube). What's more, I'm not entirely sure how they could make the demo into a particularly good game without some serious reworking -- it just lacked so much of the magic that made the first game what it was.

The environment, for one thing, really seemed to work against the game. The tools... bleh. I dunno. We'll see.

Kind of surprised at the amount of love for this game. I thought it was all right, I was just a bit disappointed at the scope of the game. I wanted more rooms, more crazy scenarios, more tools, and more than one boss. Also, I'm by no means a graphics whore, but the graphics were really jarring for me. I can't stop looking at the mitten hands!

7 to a 7.5/10 for me.

It's already $10 on clearance at Kmart stores, according to CAG. Along with Battalion Wars and Fire Emblem.

man i had to pay 40 euro for a second hand copy because the italian version is somewhat rare
you americans have all the luck :/
oh and FU nintendo for your loveable region lock ^_^
anyway i played for quite a bit and i still haven't got a single sticker, what's the purpose of them?

I had planned to play it a bit more a few months back then my attention went fully to BK:O when that came out, then the Wii and new DS releases recently - of course my most anticipated game since OoT (TP) takes priority :P ..... but I'll get back to you eventually Chibi I promise!

Stickers are marks of accomplishment -- you get them when you complete a particular objective (like, say, acquiring items) or when you resolve one of the character quests. Each character in the game has their own quest -- a set of problems that evolve over the course of the story, and which you're meant to help them with. When you finish one, you get a sticker. It's just a nice way of saying, "Hey, good job, Cheebo."

Totally underrated.
Too bad, the same people that praise games like SotC ignore special games like Chibi Robo. Must be the wrong console, shikattanai...

There´s a NDS-game coming, isnt it? Sadly, i doubt it´ll be any good on NDS.

;_; - being in Euroland sucks, all three of these are on my 'must buy when cheap' list and I'd get all three for 10€ each in a heartbeat. But they're all still full-price over here. :(

Chibi Robo is worth full price. Not including LoZTP, it's my favorite game on GameCube.

The game is an object lesson in how to design video games, at least as far as player feedback goes. The action-based music rewards you aurally for everything you do -- this is what really addicted me at first, I think. The "Cleaning Bonuses" provide positive feedback for scrubbing stains that turns what would be drudgery into essentially a slot machine spin. It's one of those games where nothing you do -- feeding the fish, falling down the drain -- goes unrewarded, and some of the rewards are really amusing (the 2.5D sequence was ace).

I thought the ramp-up of battery charge was VERY well planned. Ditto the progression of items (though some of 'em are useless for long periods of time). I do sort of wish the costumes had more use, but they're a cute idea anyway.

i got chibi ****ing robo for 20€ on amazon.de yesterday, so far i'm 20 minutes in, looks like i could have much fun with it :D

Finished it today. Just a few sidequests to finish up. Boy, it isn't a kids' game :lol

Looking forward to replaying it.

I'm proud to say that I bought Chibi-Robo. Although, I'm disappointed to say that even though I got it with the K Mart deal, I only got that game and couldn't find any other applicable games.

My wife and I were talking earlier in the day, and out of the blue, she said, "I miss Chibi-Robo." Great game to play with an audience, I'm tellin' you.

I thought that deal was at Ebgames/Gamestop? They were at mine anyways. I picked up two GC Fire Emblems for $10 a pop.

I just picked this up on a whim at a new years' buy-out - new for 23€. :D

I'm an hour in and I already love all the ideas going into the game. You can't shake the Toy-Story similarities, but I like it a lot. clean graphics and some nice exploration - it's a good change of pace from all the fighting/shooting/killing I've done in other games recently. :D
So yeah, thanks GAF for another precious recommendation!

I just finished the game

the amount of side-quests and the freedom the game gives you is note worthy. Level design was top notch generally speaking. Not enough games like this.

Well, I'm late to this thread, but I played it too--what bugged me most was that there just wasn't anything to climb up on and around. Seeing something in a far off, high corner and figuring out how to get to it was the defining experience of the GameCube title for me.

One of the last great Cube games for sure. It's clear the game isn't perfect, but it's just one of those games that screams FUN! I just love the whole concept and the execution was just dandy an it works really really well. I feel sorry for the sad sods that don't like this game, they have no soul.

Really enjoyed Chibi Robo, lots of fun.

Especially loved the atmosphere and artstyle, it had a great colour palette.

Yeah, Chibi Robo without the vertical exploration isn't really Chibi Robo, is it. I hope there's more than we've seen. Funny that none of the JGAffers, even the Skip lovers, are giving impressions.
