Hello and welcome, I've created this thread to document my journey through the world of Demon's Souls, below is the first of what I hope to be many entries about my experience playing the game
I have a love/hate relationship with the "Souls" style games, I'm intrigued by them which is enough to get me to try them and then shortly after I start playing I get wrecked hard (the worst offender of this was the first Dark Souls game, though granted I found out recently that I was actually going the wrong way & was entering/attempting to do an area meant for more "skilled"/higher level players), but despite that I find myself going back though not making much in the way of progress. Earlier this year I did something that I previously thought I'd never be able to do, which was beat Bloodborne (and by extension my first Souls style game) and I enjoyed it enough (once I got past the first couple of areas & got a hang of the game's mechanics, etc.) it got me interested in playing the Demon's Souls remake. Well late last week I found out that Sony had knocked off $20 of the price of this (and a handful of other PS5 games) on their Playstation Direct website so I took the plunge and picked it up. It arrived on Monday and so far in the span of about 3 hrs of play time (I've been working a lot lately, but I got 2 days off in a row coming up so I can put in more time into the game) I've beaten my first boss of the game, died about 30+ times (so far), got a good sword (which I was advised to go get upon beating the first boss, but they neglected to tell me about these rolling skeleton fucks who seriously f****d me up so as soon as I got that sword I peaced the f*** out of that world) and upgraded a couple of weapons & stats.
