LTTP: One Punch Man aka HOLY SH-

I didn't really like it at first because it felt too random and the pace was all over the place but after a few episodes in it started to flow better and things made much more sense. It isn't the second coming like many people made it out to be but I really enjoyed it, the animation is pure insanity. Easily the strongest thing about it, the bluray is gorgeous.

I love the heroic theme music that plays as soon as something heroic goes down usually around One Punch Man. But I loved when the theme kicked in on piano during Muman Rider standing up and not backing down from the Deep Sea King and the crowd of people rallying around him. It almost made you believe he could beat him.... almost. LOL

OPM is great, and one of the very best anime to come out in recent times. Where other shows falter, OPM keeps it's pace, consistency, and focus through it's 12 episodes.

Mob Psycho 100 is also great, but I disagree that it's better. OPM tells a very relatable story about finding purpose and the deteriorating effects of constant dissatisfaction. Saitama isn't a hero because he beats up bad guys. He's a hero because in spite of recieving so little recognition and satisfaction in life he never gives up his search for meaning. It isn't just about doing good - his heroism is a personal journey for him and It's one of the reasons why it's so rewarding to see his change of attitude during a fight.

This show is perfection. Fucking <3 OPM to bits.
Also really dig the animation in Mob Psycho 100, worth a watch alone for godmode Reigen.

It actually is the Second Coming.

How did you miss Christ our Lord's glorious and triumphal entry back when it aired in 2015?

I actually like the manga art more than the animation. The art feels even more epic and powerful IMO

I haven't read the manga but I still feel confident in expressing this opinion. I have to imagine the anime is better because it takes the material in a whole other level. Everything from the music to the animation style switches to even where they place the title screen in the episode is carefully orchestrated to create this work of art.

I mean, did you guys even realized you watched the intro even though they never showed it in the last episode?

Actually the manga is known for already being a near flip book in terms of art though its been toned down as of late which I kind of miss. Its incredibly well done and a testament to Murata's skill.

I'm happy to be proven wrong. I needed an excuse to buy the manga.

I just think very highly of the anime which is a rarity for me.

Definitely loved OPM anime, and I am keeping up with the manga, both versions. I eagerly await season 2.

As for Mob Psycho 100, I read the manga and thought it was decent. Not as good as OMP, imo. Haven't seen the anime yet.

I'm always shocked to find people who prefer OPM to Mob Psycho. The latter is so much better. I also feel like Murata OPM has jumped the shark somewhat

The OPM Manga has been pretty boring for over a year now IMO. Though it might be starting to get back on track, we'll see.

Hopefully Madhouse takes some liberties with season two, because if they don't trim some of the fat, it will be significantly weaker than the first season.

Mob Psycho 100 never got a redraw of any kind of though ONE's skill progresses a lot as the series go on and he gets a assistant help on the environments so it gets a lot better looking and down right great looking.

As for the anime well I'll just link an old post:

I'll say it again if you want to see one of the most visually impressive animes in a long time with a hell of a lot of heart and a great cast then watch Mob Psycho 100. The fights are insane as well and the show is great at subverting your expectations. You'll also be laughing your ass off a lot.

I actually think it will work better animated and in the long run with the next arc that season 3 will most likely cover should work a lot better as a whole since the web comic is very sparse on certain elements.

I think One-Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 are both great.

I personally like Mob Psycho 100 a bit more, but I can see how someone would prefer One-Punch Man. I'd also say One-Punch Man's first episode is better at hooking viewers than Mob Psycho 100's first episode.

So how different is the show from the book? Would people recommend that I watch the show first and then read or read it first and then watch?

The book has a lot of one off parts that were never adapted for the show and the show has a few extra character scenes not in the manga plus all the one shot episodes are totally unique to the show.

Any legal ways to watch mob psycho 100? I don't think I've seen it on Netflix. I loved OPM. My favorite anime in ages. So disappointed to find there's no second season yet lol

Second Season is coming later this year and Mob Psycho 100 is on Crunchyroll

Just checked, and it seems like all of the dubbed episodes are also up on Funimation's website.

I have heard some people love the dub and some people hate it. I haven't actually watched it yet, was waiting for the dub to hit Toonami.

Huh, I've only heard good things about Mob's dub. I only watched the first episode for the dub but it seemed solid. I know Mob's English voice actor played 9S in Nier: Automata. I'm waiting to watch the dub until the series gets a Blu-ray release (still waiting on an announcement for that).

Granted I'm also waiting for the One-Punch Man Blu-ray to go on sale.

Yeah, just going by the original manga versions of each, I think OPM is much better. Haven't seen the Mob Psycho anime though so that may be where people prefer it.

OPM at first definitely started out rocky, as it seemed to be mostly one shot quick stories about Saitama and his ability and the monster of the day appearances. It's not until the Deep Sea King or Boros that OPM actually gets its first real "arc", and it's pretty good.

But the Monster Association/Garou arc blows everything in season 1 completely out of the water. The story starts getting a little darker and a bit more serious, and it's great.

This was the article that got me to read the manga
