I hope they mix in some first person elements to Silent Hills, assuming it will be a 3rd person experience.....honestly, I don't know if I could handle an 8 or more hour game of that level of tension. Just a teaser for a game, and its one of the coolest things ive experienced in gaming. Creepy as fuck.
Even after I switched to remote play

PT is so scary that I turned it off and refused to play it until I went to a friend's house to let him play it for me. I'm a wench like that.

Beats the hell out of a trailer. Playable Teaser was just about the best "teaser" ever. Somehow it managed to be one of my top gaming experiences of the year.

Imagine PT in third person. Not NEARLY as scary. Possibly ruins it. This is why I support Silent Hills being first person. Lets crank this shit up to 11.

And stick this hallway somewhere in the final game just as an Easter egg.

There was some really great stuff in it, but the frustration of trying to figure out what to do in order to progress a couple of times killed the tension. Walking back and forth in the same hallway while trying to examine everything, over and over again, is the opposite of scary.

You mean youre Hungover, right?

otherwise you started drinking at 6AM

anyway, P.T is nice but you hit a wall eventually, the lack of agency puts you at the game's mercy. After Being savaged by that...thing and screaming like a girl, I nope'd out and un-installed.

Wow, this thread is timely, just played it myself last night. Holy hell is it fucked up. In a good way. I'm usually pretty good with horror, but man the
little girl shrieking in the bloody refrigerator
, I just about Noped The Fuck Out™.

Yeah, this is usually my only issue with these types of games (also the Subject 16 puzzles in AssCreed 2 and Bro), sometimes the logic in figuring them out is so obtuse.

Between this and starting The Last of Us remastered, I am very glad to have upgraded into the current gen, these games look gorgeous.

To be fair the game was designed to take players weeks to figure out, so they purposefully made it obtuse as hell.

P.T. almost killed me lol, so I know I don't have the balls to play it. One of the few games I'll be only to happy to watch via Twitch with a pillow half over my face.

PT scared the shit out of me, I dont like horror games in general to begin with but this game made me scream like a little girl.

I was also playing with my cousin and I kept wanting to quit, but she refused to let me, eventually we quit after we entered the revolving hallway as we had no idea what to do. Thank god, I dont think I could have played a minute of the game longer.

Not gonna buy it at release, but it was one hell of an experience.

I wouldn't at all be surprised there are secrets yet to discover in PT. The game is so dense I was finding little tidbits and dialogue long after my first playthrough.

One of the scariest games I've ever played. Holy shit. On par with SH1 and 2.

Yes, Kojima really used the trope to the letter!

Patrick Klepek said, in your first go around the hallway,
you can see something leering down over you in the second floor balcony.
Is this true? I really want to fire it up and see it.

Yes, when
the window falls and breaks near the radio, look up
.

In-game it's like 10 times creepier.
One of the creepiest bits for me. I always find eerie moments and an implied sense of threat worse than jump scares and actual attacks.

My mind does all the work when it's implied. Wondering if and when that thing will get closer to me. I guess it's the horror equivilent of cock teasing that makes you wait in expectation.

Oh man, this got me last night. I had my headphones on, and I actually heard the footsteps coming from above me, so I walked down, turned around and looked up just in time to see her receding into the darkness.

Nope.

Edit: I never saw the yellow glitch screen. I got switched to a console screen that had "Please fix these bugs" and a bunch of other QA looking jargon on it.

Nope.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. I thought I heard a few faint footsteps so I looked up there. I didn't initially see her though because the brightness for my game was set probably lower than it should have been, but I did a double take and looked again and could faintly see her looking at me.

That freaked me out at an "alright its time to turn on the lights just to reaffirm that this isn't real" kind of level.

The fact that the puzzles are so badly designed that you have to read a faq or watch a walkthrough ruined the whole game
People need to understand that this wasn't supposed to be a game that people could easily complete on their own. It was a teaser meant to generate discussion and hype for the game. This is like complaining that one person couldn't solve an ARG on their own. The puzzles accomplished their purpose, to generate buzz.
