I believe ranking is based on time, amount of saves and how many first aid sprays you use. If you use any sprays, you automatically get a B. When you know what you're doing, you can run through either scenario in around two hours with plenty of ammo and no need to save.
Any good 3rd party controllers I can get for my dreamcast so I can play this? Playing through JSR reminded me how much the 1st party controller hurt my hands.
You're probably just better off using a DC>PSX converter.
I've been meaning to do a run through of the series myself, starting with Directors Cut on PSX and then moving over to the DC versions (although I'm curious about RE2 N64, that always impressed me).

Make sure to play Directors Cut, not Directors Cut Dual Shock. The Dual Shock edition replaced the original music with an awful soundtrack. The version of Resident Evil on the US PSN store is sadly the Dual Shock version.
Ah... Resident Evil 2. After the original RE my most favourite. I#m proud of saying that I still own a PSX and a Gamecube copy of it. Good ol times it were back then....
CV and 5 are predicated on the false premises that (a) games don't need to be fun to play, and (b) it's more interesting to have a hammy megalomaniacal 'villain' character than to have an unethical faceless corporation that starts massive apocalyptic shitstorms out of sheer disregard for people's safety.

CV and 5 are kinda fun to play. And story-wise, they're fun as "popcorn entertainment." But "canon-wise" they screwed the series and show that CV fucked the series up in terms of some characters. :|

my all-time favorite game. I used to own the dreamcast version and would run through a play through every day when i got home from school. ...yeah, i didn't really have much going on.
Within the facility, I'll have a room built. It will be similar to the design of my mansion, the legacy of the late Trevor. I will be able to cherish my sweet memories there...
To be honest, I think that RE5 actually undo CV screw-ups and saves the series canon-wise; instead of taking RE4 route and doing another Bond-esque side-story, it tries to end all loose ends, explains a lot of unanswered things (a shame that most of them you can only find in the library and not in the game) and actually moves the plot forward. It also establishes new corporations (both the evil ones and the good ones), says that Umbrella's stuff is running on black market and
Alexander says here that Arkley Mansion was his, and not Spencer's.

I really loved CV's story. Its deeper than any other RE because of the Ashford's
most f'd up videogame family?
plus I loved the themes (including Friendly but naive King). Its not my fav RE but its in top 3 for me. Plus Chris and Wesker in CV > Chris and Wesker in Re5.

There were no clones in RE5. Sure, there were more Weskers, but all of them were just normal kids born in intelligent and/or aristocratic families, taken by Spencer to be risen, trained and educated in a controlled environment. Spencer did this because he believed that because of the birth and treatment, those kids would end up being superior human and thus would be able to survive being injected with the virus made from the Stairway to the Sun flowers.
Wasn't Albert the only one that survived the injection, though?
I think it is implied that Javier from Darkside Chronicles get the T-Veronica virus from Wesker. So yes, it seems Wesker did get something (the virus) out of Steve's body.

Funny that you would make a thread like this. I just recently started my playthrough of this game on Dreamcast. Gave it a short break but I might have to pick it back up now.
