After lots of reccomendations, I've decided to give this a try. A few episodes in and I'm really enjoying myself and it finally seems like there's a new show for me to get into, conveniently on Netflix.

I really like the Dr. Cox character, and I really enjoy the Turk/J.D dynamic and I think making quirky sitcom characters and putting them in a hospital environment is a cool idea. The cut-away gags and the daydreaming thing is kind of fun. Just, sometimes when the show tried to get serious so far it didn't really do anything for me.

Also, does the Janitor turn into a better character eventually? He has to, I think. At least, I really hope. I really like the guy in The Middle and was hoping to enjoy that character.

Anyway, is it worth it if I try to binge a lot of this and make it all the way through? Been looking for a new show. I'm enjoying myself, especially after looking up that intro song :P

It's a really great show. There's a dip in quality about 6 seasons in, but it pulls itself back up before the end.

Yeah season 6 is bad and you should just skip 7 but 8 is one of the best seasons and the show has a great ending. Skip season 9 which is like saved by the bell the new class.

Keep an open mind in regards to the more serious Scrubs episodes. A few of my favorite Scrubs episodes are the the ones that are more drama than comedy.

Great series. The creator of it was inspired by the Simpsons(and a bit of Family Guy) and you can tell.

I won't spoil anything but I always thought of the very, very last season(which was technically a different show that people hated) as a nice, fun, and satisfactory bonus to the ending of the last season.

I don't get the hate for season 9. Yeah, it wasn't as good as the previous seasons, but it wasn't awful either. It wasn't suppose to be a exact replica of the previous seasons. It was using it to jump start and do its own thing. If the show was given an extra season or two, it could grow into its own thing.

Dr. Kelso is the best character on the show.

I want a friendship like JD and Turk have. Thats true love and dedication man.
Imo the janitor gets better, but i liked his character from the beginning so ymmv.

I actually quite like it but it got cancelled, so if I had the choice of never watching it, I would have picked that so we kept the logical season 8 finale.

I don't agree with skipping any of it, but seasons 6 and 7 are definitely the low point.

Great show, that could be wacky and stupid and still completely nail moments like this (trying to not spoil anything for OP):

Love this show.

One that I always wondered was why the hospital got so much darker in the later seasons. It always felts like night. Were they trying to save electricity on the set?

One of my favourite shows ever. On a personal level, it really helped me during a difficult time in my life. My dad died a few weeks before I discovered this show after battling cancer for years. There are so many episodes that really touched me because the show was so sincere and real. The episodes in-between were funny and clever but it was the serious episodes that truly helped me.

i hate you. thanks for reminding me.

also:
1. dr.cox
2. Dr. Jan Itor
3. everyone else.

It's my favorite comedy show (recently challenged by arrested development), so yeah OP, you can safely continue watching.
As others have said, dont drop out in the weaker seasons 6-7, the season 8 is great, with a great finale. I'd personaly say to skip S9, the show ended on a strong point in S8.

What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap?

You have the wrong guy on your avatar.

Season 9 makes more sense when you realise it was going to be titled differently.

It is shitty though.

I'm surprised I didn't get an avatar quote by now.

I feel like this is an odd plea considering the more solemn episodes are widely considered the show's best.

Grey's Anatomy always wraps up every episode with some cheesy voiceover that ties together all the story lines, which, incidentally, is my least favorite device on television.

Probably my 3rd favorite show, maybe fourth. It's not the funniest, but it has the realest moments of any tv comedy I've seen, and that Turk/JD bromance is a sight to behold

Reading this thread just makes me want to watch it again, I can't help it

The actual comedy in "season 9" was fine; not classic by any means but would place firmly in the middle of scrubs season rankings.

Seems most of the hate is simply due to it being the ninth season in the first place, tarnishing the finale. Had it been branded as a spinoff as was intended I'd imagine reactions to be more positive.
