LTTP: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

Saw it a bit after cinema release and thought it was okay if sometimes annoying (twins ...). Maybe half a year ago I wanted to watch it again with my GF and we had to turn it off 1/3 in. It was unbearable the second time. Don't think that there is too much GAF hiveminding around here. That movie is simply a turd.

Well they broke through a wall and suddenly they were in this desert/airfield.

To quote Matthew Berk, Did they really fucking think that nobody would know where the Smithsonian is?
aaa that part is wrong, had no idea, I know what the museum is that it is in DC but I had no idea about it's exact location and how it looks around it, so forgive my ignorance on that part

Despite my distaste for the film, I found myself plunking down $20 for the Big Screen Edition on Blu-ray at Walmart today. Told myself if I ever bought it, it would only be that edition for the eyegasms, and it was the cheapest I've ever seen it (prob because of TF3).

Manos' commentary is reminding me why I put off that purchase for so long. Too bad I already opened it.

20 does not sound that cheap to me. The normal BluRay costs about 10 euros here and that still did not make me buy it yet (although I want to have it at some point for the same reasons you bought it).

Oh, I could have gotten the much cheaper standard Blu anytime, but the Walmart Big Screen edition has the IMAX print.

I see. Makes sense then. :) Well, that is something we don't get here as it seems.

Reading that just made me realize I couldn't even recall the plot of the movie if you asked me to, except that it featured a Linkin Park song, racist robots, a robot that humps Megan Fox's leg, John Turturro and Devastator's balls, and a horribly clichéd shot of the parents in Paris that made sure it had both the Eiffel Tower and mimes.

I also couldn't stop figuring out what part of Shia LaBeouf's character in the first film ever indicated he was Harvard material.

Bay is worse than fanfiction writers

I hated TF1 so much I couldn't even finish it and I finish almost any shitty movie I stumble upon on. If TF2 is even worse it could actually be worth watching if it crosses that "so bad it's good" line

I'm only curious. Is Manos still the worst film you've ever seen, or do we have a new champion?
Oh I like Manos a lot actually, there is something strangely interesting about Manos (the music, the bizarre characters, the inept nature of it) that doesn't make me mind watching it. Hell I even like the works of Coleman Francis too.

No it's not The Room.

It can never be The Room.

It's just garbage.

I'll have to try watching it without the robots some time.

And somehow they hold their own against the shitty lumbering Devastator.

Man, in the original '86 movie, even the Dinobots couldn't do much against Devastator. I wish we got THAT Devastator. He would have been perfect in DotM as the Decepticons' main weapon of destruction, rather than Shockwave's Driller. Imagine the carnage?

No film should ever be compared to The Room. The Room is a whole new level of filmmaking that no other filmmaker would dare replicate... on purpose, anyway.

This got me:

Why would a robot need to fart, pee, or vomit? And why would it need testicles?
Michael Bay does not understand what a robot is.

I still dig the movie

And what is it with Bay and fucking stereotyping?

Someone needs to call him out on this and tell him to cut that shit out.

Same with the stupidest crap too like dog humping.

You know cause kids want to see that!

The whole thing is an homage to the shit I had this afternoon.

haha. I enjoyed the first movie but EVERY TIME this one is on I can't watch it for more than 5 minutes at a time. It's terrible. The new movie looks pretty bad ass though, not gonna lie.

I thought this movie was unbelievably awesome. There are certain movies that you know going in you can interpret as a comedy and enjoy it on completely different merits than intended. This is one of those films. I'll be dragging my friends to the third one for the same reason.

Now I put down a new game for us to play.

Let's play which to watch.

What would you watch?

Twilight (any of them) or TF2?

I've only seen the first Twilight movie I'll watch that over TF2.

No way man. At least in TF2 you know you'll burst out laughing every other scene at how fucking dumb it is. Twilight would just bore me to death.

The Hyperbole in this thread is utterly ridiculous. It's a bad film, but worst film of the decade? Okay, then. >.>

Out of all the major releases of the last decade, I'd put Resident Evil: Afterlife 1000000 places above TF2. :lol That film was easily the worst film I've seen for as long as I can remember.

I was entertained by Afterlife, I don't if that's anything to be ashamed of but I was.

wesker> Anyone from TF2

It's absolutely one of the worst films of the last decade, especially when it comes to everything that is wrong with Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking. It actually wraps it all up into one whole terrible package.

I thought the first one was utter shit, and was incredibly disappointing as a lifelong Transformers fan. I thought the second one was equally bad, but the fact it made some G1 references and took itself a little less seriously made it the better of two shitty movies to me.

So, in summation, I like the second one better. Or, at least, hated it less.

Replace Twilight with TF1, and this is exactly how I feel.

Nah, Juno was far worst for me. This at least has stuff worth watching. If I did the FF version of Juno I don't think I would stop at any point.

I dunno, it's right up there for me. Well, the first one is. Never bothered with the sequel.

I think the worst film of the decade for me was 2012. But that film works if you watch it with the idea that it's a comedy in mind.

I think Resident Evil Afterlife is actually smarter than Transformers 2

I haven't seen it, but if a single character's actions make sense and/or there is a single second of cohesion in the plot then you are certainly correct.

So many great movies out there and you choose to watch this one op ?

tut tut son.

I can't believe I'm defending RE in this but it's not hard at all.

-actions somewhat make sense...sort of? It is not a complicated movie and it gets right to the point and it's clear what the characters want to do, escape.

-I can actually tell what's going on in action scenes, mostly thanks to slow-motion.

-Almost all characters are red shirts but that's fine anyways since it's not like you need to connect with any of them.

-Wesker is the best villain of the entire movie series.

And what the hell was the Fallen's revenge? Why was he so important that only a prime could kill him?

That means I can put Revenge of the Fallen and Green Lantern on equal footing, then.

I would read a multiple page long Puddles thread/rant about this movie. It's really too bad he was downgraded to Junior status.

Have you read the Ebert review? It's one of my favorites.

I hate people that live-comment movies man, just watch the damn thing, finish it and make a better thread with your thoughts afterwards.

Really? both movies on blu ray were 12.99 last week at Best Buy, and if you price matched at Target, they had 3 dollar off Target coupons which got me both movies for 20 bucks, score.
