LTTP: What happened to burnout?

burnout 2 crash mode is still the best. the only reason i did all the races was to unlock more cars for crash mode. it was like an awesome high speed puzzle game. plus it supported custom soundtracks while you were speeding towards your destruction (something missing from 3 and 4. all you heard was engine sounds). also having high score lists where you could input your name made it a great pass and play game with friends. why they took these options out of subsequent games ill never know.

id pay for a game full of burnout 2 style crash junctions. no multiplier crap. no aftertouch. just well designed crash junctions. is that so much to ask?

Yes!

the demo is on the market place, try it
Oh Flatout! I played that one. I'm thinking of this other game. "Wreckless: Yakuza Missions". It came out maybe the same time as the first Burnout.

Did you play the previous four titles though? It's like making Hydro Thunder into an open-seas water adventure. It was fun, but nowhere near the action-packed awesomeness of Revenge and Takedown.

If they continue with the open-world on the next Burnout, I'm done with the franchise. And I really, really don't want that to happen. :(
Maybe for the next one they should have two modes. One where you can race/crash/whatever in certain parts and another for the open world. The only thing I didn't like about paradise was that it didn't have crash mode, that showtime? mode wasn't all that great.

I would have no problem with that. :D
