I think I've owned World of Goo since it had that pay what you want sale a couple of years back and have since bought it again roughly 5 times (it's always turning up in bundles). Despite this, I never really played the game. I usually get to somewhere in chapter two and then just give up for no real reason other than I've probably completed chapters 1 and 2 about 10 times and get bored of the game.
Anyway, after getting the game for my touchpad in the humble android bundle, I deciced to play it again this time push through to the end while commuting on the bus. Thank god I did.
Now having finished it, I have to say that World of Goo is probably in my top five list of indie games this generation. Everything about it feels designed to perfection. The game never stops throwing new goo balls at you and forces you to use them in crazy ways that you wouldn't expect at the start of the game. Every puzzle feels unique and challenging without being overly difficult. I could always solve a puzzle after playing around with the goo balls and the levels attributes in a couple of minutes so it sort of felt like portal in that respect.
So yeah, I could fawn over this game for hours upon hours but I just want to say:
If you own World of Goo (and you probably do), GO PLAY IT THROUGH. It remains to be one of the most enjoyable puzzle experineces of the past few years. Seriously, play it!
Also, the epilogue of the game is amazing. Some of the best puzzles in the game are there. You can tell the designers thought "hey, you haven't used these early mechanics in a while so lets bring them back and make them way more hardcore". So much fun.
