FNF UP!

Yeah, I honestly this will be my favorite even though there were so many great albums this year. I am loving track 19. "Fighters" (featuring Matthew Santos) out of the sampler(8:40.) I can't wait to hear the full version.

Can't wait, was one of my top two most anticipated albums of the year, but now that Nas's new album has been delayed this is number one! C'mon Lupe don't disappoint!

From what I was able to hear it sounds alright. Getting kind of tired of the pop/R&B choruses. I really liked "Go Baby".

Go Go Gadget Flow
The Coolest
Gold Watch
Relief
Hello/Goodbye (Uncool)
The Die
Fighters
Go Baby

I don't know if anyone said this on Gaf but Lupe did announce that he is going to make one more solo album called "LupEND". He got the idea from how in Capcom games you are able to put in 3 letters for your score and then just END. He said it is going to be his last since he doesn't have much more to say and doesn't want to put out music just to put out something.

More time for him to get with Pharrel and Kanye on CRS. I hope he keeps that album title because that'd be AWESOME.

This is kind of a concept album, so here is some character info.

Michael Young History

Born: March 2006
Birthplace: Every Hood, USA

Biography: Since his early childhood days, Michael Young History was conflicted. Raised by a single, hard-working mother, History never really knew his father, a man who abandoned both History and his baby sister. This lack of paternal guidance turned an otherwise intelligent, promising boy into a drug-selling, money-grubbing Scarface-wannabe. Starting off as merely a petty crook, History’s torrid affair with his mentor’s (Game) wife, The Streets, sent him on a downward spiral of greed, deception, and, ultimately, death.

Cool Point
- An unabashed atheist, History anointed his own “holy trinity”—himself, Streets and The Cool.

He Says She Says (Food & Liquor)
----------------------------------

The Cool

Hustler for death; No heaven for a gangster

Resurrected: Amongst the undead since September 2006
Birthplace: Six feet under the Earth’s surface

Biography: The Cool is the physical manifestation of History’s debt to humanity. Payback for every user abused and every family torn apart by History, The Cool walks amongst the living as a zombie. “He” – that term used lightly, considering The Cool isn’t human – reeks of death, an ironic contrast to his polished three-piece-suit appearance. Searching for his purpose, The Cool haunts The Streets.

Cool Points
- His only possessions—two diamond earrings, a gold chain, and a letter from History’s eight-year-old sister.
- Despite the long-finished settling of rigor mortis, the sharp sensation of three bullets constantly causes aching in The Cool.
- Only one thought plays in his head like a broken record – “Hustler for death, no heaven for a gangster.”

The Game

They say the Game has the Belly of the Beast, Blunts for fingers and Hollow Tips for Teeth

Born: Given life the moment the snake suckered Adam and Eve
Birthplace: The Garden of Eden

Biography: An immortal, soulless entity, The Game scours city blocks and country landscapes with equal menace. Scheming from morning until night, he changes targets like the wind – hustlers, politicians, celebrities, and impressionable youth have all succumbed to his charms. His most valued accomplice is his wife, The Streets. Together, this “Bonnie and Clyde” duo have affected the lives of every man, woman, and child. The victim closest to their affections, however, was Michael Young History, a tortured man seeking acceptance through fame and fortune. Of course, nothing from The Game comes without a price.

Cool Points
- Quite convincing, his foolproof method of touching minds is through blunt fingertips.
- Through his wire-tapped ears, he’s able to hear the approaching of any enemy.
- When not hovering over common society, he lives behind bars, plotting ways to see his son, Heroine, and secretly conversing with his marital lover, The Streets.
- Despite carrying out such heartless actions, The Game does have a blood-pumping system – an amplified system pumping beats through woofer-like veins.

The Streets

Demon in a dress...Dollar signs in her eyes

Born: Conceived thousands of years ago, when the first paths and roads were paved.
Birthplace: Unknown

Biography: A temptress like none other, The Streets possesses an uncanny knack for seduction and betrayal. An equal opportunity heartbreaker, she exudes an allure irresistible to both men and women. Some have accused her of pedophilia, having lured people into her tangled web at ages as immature as eight years old. The word “love” isn’t in her vocabulary –although The Game is her admitted soulmate. Yet, The Streets has always felt a peculiarly strong connection with Michael Young History.

Cool Points
- Often referred to by her condemners as a “demon in a dress.”
- No stranger to loss, she’s tattooed the names of her murdered ex-boyfriends across her breasts.
- Her ambitions are clear upon eye contact, with dollar signs in the place of her pupils.
- Witnesses to History’s slaying reported seeing brown, almost Hennessy-colored tears roll down The Streets.

Can't wait for this i rarely buy rap albums as i find most of them their too unfocused filled with 20 tracks most of them crap but i did buy Lupe's first album Food And Liquor one of my favorites of last year the production, concepts and lyrics were brilliant.

The tracks i've heard so far off of the 'The Cool' have been even better i still can't get enough of 'Dumb it Down' the wordplay on it is ridiculous the album can't get here soon enough.

Album of the century.

Off topic but, I saw some commercial for some rapper named Plies, and he was stating how his album was the greatest album ever in the past 10 years. Later, I heard his song with Akon and laughed so god damn hard thinking about that comment he made.

sample sounds fucking sick. Food and Liquor was amazing and this style seems to be taking over which is a great thing. Hip hop > gangstar rap. I think even 50 Cent and G Unit are starting to realize that.

Does anyone else get annoyed by the repetition of "The Coolest n*gga what" at the beginning of The Coolest?
At first it got on my damn nerves, but its growing on me.

My favorite songs on the album will probably be the coolest, gotta eat, little weapon, and Paris Tokyo

It's hard to know what Lupe is rapping about. Anyone wanna tell me what The Coolest is about? :D
heh I have to look at the lyrics sometime this weekend, but its about micheal young history and his relationship with "the streets" at its peak.

Who's Michael Young, a character off his first album? My friends brother introduced me to Lupe a few months ago and I've really only listened to a few of his mixtapes. I should probably buy Food & Liquor.

This album is going to be so damn good. Food and Liquor was great.

BTW, if you guys have heard Comfortable, Lupe stole the flow to a T for The Cool

Read post 15 for more info.

My brother said he is getting this for me for Christmas so I'll be downloading asap. There is no way I can wait. I usually always download when it first hits the net then buy it right when it releases. But I think with Del's 11th Hour I won't download early since I want the experience of not hearing any song to an 8 year awaited album from my favorite artist.

Lupe is an artist I'm going to enjoy through is evolution process. I really like F&L but it's clear he's still learning how to writing songs. He can rap, and his lyrics are always on point - but he has trouble constructing songs sometimes. Especially choruses

You think Can you Let me Know could be a bonus track?

Same, I have a feeling im going to enjoy The Cool a lot more than F&L. I enjoyed F&L but it was really weak in some areas. I felt the best tracks were easily "The Instrumental" and "The Cool" and the rest i skip through every now and then. What I've heard of the cool has been spectacular though. I'm really looking forward to the Child Rebel Soldier stuff as well.

That's on some Coheed and Cambria shit. Never realized F&L had that much depth to it. Good shit.

Love what I've heard, can't wait to pick it up.

I <3 the fact that good hip-hop like this is more and more becoming the mainstream, instead of gangster rap bullshit.

I just listened to the coolest single. I loved F&L and will actually buy The Cool. I didn't know he was gonna stop after this next one, but then again I can't name a rapper that actually retired young. Master P? I have no idea.

I was hoping that it wouldn't be the case, but, this is exactly like Eardrum to me. When I say that, I mean that I can only listen to a couple tracks off of the album, and then promptly cut it off. The production is really good, and when the album hits its high notes, it shatters champaign glasses. The only issue is, that it isn't an opera by any means, at all. It feels rather inconsistent, and something akin to listening to an album with the shuffle option turned on: not well defined at that. Its decent in its own right, and a lot of the concepts are well versed, but, the album feels like its lacking in terms of cohesiveness.

Just finished listening to the whole album.

Live up to expectations. Favorite album this year by far.

Holy shit, I can't stop listening!

Streets be like, FEED ME, FEED ME!!!
