Brilliant episode.

Idris Elba is cool as fuck. Can't wait until next Tuesday! We get a new Sherlock on New Years Day too, set in Victorian England too, should be good.

Dat fucking intro when he luthers up. Like a boss. (it needs to be gif'd)

Alice ain't dead tho.

It's gonna be hard to wait till next week. :(

Great episode, Luther's back baby.

With only 2 episodes I'm thinking this will end on a cliffhanger and then lead into the movie. Idris says they are still looking at doing the movie, it's just taken time to get things together, so this could be the jumping point for it.

I guess we won't find out if Alice is dead or not here and that will be the movies plot.

They said if they do a movie it'll be a prequel so they can get Ripley back, but that was a while ago so plans could've changed I guess. I'm just glad Neil Cross said recently he'll carry on writing Luther until Luther's old and grey, and Idris said he'll keep on playing him, because for a while it seemed like series 3 was the last one.

Movie is a prequel with the final scene being the first scene of season one, episode one.

Glad to hear it, we can clearly see that Idris love playing the character and Neil to write it

Luther for life!

Some lovely directing and cinematography in tonight's episode. Sorta glad it's only two episodes if we get stuff like that.

Why do people like Alice so much? She's fucking evil.. she killed her parents, I don't get it.

She's a genuinely terrific character, but she also makes Luther a much better character. The entire franchise is more or less about his contradictory nature. He's immoral but his sense of duty is incorruptible. He fights to catch monsters but genuinely adores a monster, to the point where he helps her escape justice.

Luther is never a better show than when Alice and Luther are partners in crime.

It was amazing, but equally troubling in that it just feels like it's getting going and next week it's going to end.

Shurely thish should be a four parter?

Unless the film is definite thing of course.

John Luther really is the Batman of London.

Guys, could you PLEASE tag spoilers? This show isn't even out for all of us and I've already read too much.

John Luther really is the Batman of London.

Can not shake this feeling when he is standing on rooftops overlooking the city.

His uniform really cements this, throughout the first seasons I kept wondering why he would not wear a different coat, but this episode shows how that coat is his cape and armor. He derives strength and authority from it.

Luther (Batman) and his ex partner Ripley (Robin) also have the physique like they are from a Rocksteady Batman game.

I also noticed that he confronts bad guys unarmed, even when he is setting a trap and knows he can't avoid a confrontation.

Oh and Alice is basically Catwoman?
