Only problem is that you wouldn't be able to play all your other Steam games, just the Valve ones.criesofthepast said:Yes!!! So long Bootcamp.

NekoFever said:Pleeeeeease let me play the Windows Source games that I already own on the Mac. Blizzard puts both versions on the same disc and that's with the malign influence of Activision behind it, so there's no excuse for Valve not to.
Those teasers are awesome, though.

True. That would suck for most people with a huge library of games. Luckily I just own TF2.The Big Rig said:Only problem is that you wouldn't be able to play all your other Steam games, just the Valve ones.

Tiktaalik said:It is a sort of chicken and egg problem the issue of no Mac games. No one makes Mac games because no one buys Mac games because there's no Mac games.
Valve creating a Steam for OS X with their various Source games being ported over would do huge things to encourage development of games for OS X.
Really there should be a lot more. Already many casual games are made for OS X and Blizzard has always supported the platform with day one releases of its games. Id has also always been a supporter. It's Valve which as long been the hold out.
Mac marketshare keeps increasing (basically along laptop lines) and so if game developers continue to ignore this marketshare that's just more and more money left on the table.
Please please let them port CounterStrike and Half Life 1.

IDK, I installed Crossover a few months back and had huge ass issues trying to get TF2 to run at a decent framerate. Might just be related to the issue that it was running emulated, but the GPU/CPU combo in a Mini isn't that powerful.Acidote said:Valve's Source games? They should run perfectly smooth maxed out.

Macworld said:A source at Valve shared the screenshot below with Macworld in anticipation of an upcoming announcement, and it couldnt deliver this news to anxious Mac gamers in any better way. To make sure were all on the same page when reading this image: it depicts Alyx Vance, a key character in Half Life 2, reenacting Apples famous 1984 commercial by throwing a crowbar (the trademark weapon of Half Life protagonist Gordon Freeman) at series villain Dr. Breen (not to be confused with our own not-at-all-villainous Senior Editor).

Look at the standard mac mouse. Right clicking works 50% of the timepolyh3dron said:right click.

Zzoram said:He said Mac Mini, not new iMac. Do those even have video cards? Integrated graphics will not run anything 3D maxed out.
Infact, the Intel GMA950 can't even run Counterstrike 1.6 on lowest settings at 30fps.
With the magic mouse it works 100% of the time for me. Plus, Macs have USB ports and work with pretty much any mouse out there, just like a PC.ismaboof said:Look at the standard mac mouse. Right clicking works 50% of the time

Do yourself a favor and get a real mouse. All that gesture crap isn't going to work in game.
And if we can't end the map on L4D because your ass is trying to right-click I won't hesitate to put you down and steal your stuff.

I have this nice little MS mouse that I use when I play games on my Mac. Anyone who uses a Mighty or a Magic mouse to play games is doing it very very wrong.
