Mad Max Ripper Edition revealed

You should calm down. Aside from the fact that it has been in development for over 3 years, it has nothing to do with Fury Road.

It is by no means a "quick movie tie in". Not sure where you got that impression anyway, Avalanche has been VERY clear about this.

This.^

Avalanche has said a few times, this has nothing to do with the movie.
But i do find it funny with all the recent publicity, that the interviewers and fans questions are hyped up because of Fury Road and that is generally their first question.

The only thing when they've mention in relation to Fury Road, is for a timeline.
After Beyond Thunderdome and before Fury Road.

I think this is the art.

Wow, that is awful. WTF

Even by Generic western Box Art, this is really poor quality. Yeesh.

Yeah, I think that's where the confusion comes from.

What kind of world will this offer?
Open with towns Etc, currently I have no interest in the game at all but I do want to like it because I do like the movies.

For the mere fact is says "ripper edition" on the cover, this game can for fuck itself. Along with its second rate Arkham Knight knock off gameplay. If it wants to rip off an already poorly aged game, I hope this piece of shit bombs fucking hard.

That's questionable imo.
From what i've gathered from Avalanches comments and such,..it's a shit hole...lol

Seriously though,
Oceans are gone, Dust covers majority of the World. Mainly Industrial areas will be accessible cause they're the areas people want/control.

It was an "OK" film. Fast 7 is a better action film than this one and i wouldnt even say Fast 7 is the best action film in the past few years.
This is hilarious. Fast 7 was fun, but...

Mad Mad Fury Road was incredible. Like an operatic action movie. As crazy epic and beautiful as it was tragic (as a story) and while I could do without the two or three "3D!" shots, it was VERY well made and wasn't aided by a crapload of CG like Fast and Furious series.

That being said, I'm excited for the game not so much because of the movie, but impressions. A handful of my friends came back from E3 with Mad Max as their game of the show (playabe, that is).

I'll have to check this out more thoroughly.

I dunno, like I said, I want to like it so I'm hoping there's a hook that'll pull me in somewhere along the way.

:p

The only "Hook" a person needs is..
It's MAD MAX,
It's Open World,
V8

lol
Once i knew that, they had me at "hello"
But i'm Australian, and i can masturbate to these films and not feel guilty....lol

Not likely, considering the fact that movie was fucking awesome and people are excited for games with wasteland settings before FO4 comes out.

the movie was awesome but it has nothing to do with the game...somehow the game is quite bland and using the same Batman's combat mechanic...and i found it not interesting at all...but that is just me...

Oddly Fury Road (awesome movie) might be the worst thing that could have happened to this game. The game looks good and I do want to see more of it. But MGS must come first, or maybe both.

Im gonna have to rewatch the movie but it really has no lasting appeal or at least nothing stood out. It was a good film. The "tragic" parts were predictable and the viewer literally gives no shits in what happens to a few of the characters.

Sorry to have derailed the thread. I am glad to hear is has no connection with the film's plot.

You mean YOU give no shits. The "viewer" as in "the audience" in my theaters all seemed to care and gasp and someone even cried out during the movie because of the shit they kept getting into.

The movie itself is also very divisive among my filmmaking friends, though it gets them to talk. Largely about Max's involvement in the story and how he leaves at the end (which is like the other films) and I hope the game echoes these same ideals.

Are you blind?

I said:
"From what I have seen"
You even bolded it. I didn't say I have played the game.

So, go ahead and sit back down.

I know your sane, I just think your opinion doesn't match mine and your expectations are blown waaayyy out of proportion.

How can you throw a number score around after seeing some videos and screenshots? Not only that, but predict what a multitude of reviewers will score the game based on said videos and screenshots. Good fuck. Sit. Down. Forever.

Fury Road DLC continues to be the most obvious move of all time, especially because they could tack it on to blu-ray ads. Move the release date a week, though, yikes.

Great movie, I'm hopeful but the game looks fairly average. They really need to steal from the movie for colour, enemy types, more car combat options, because it just looks average? I'm super excited for potential, and this is the Just Cause 2 team, but I dunno.

Needs Doof Warrior Edition hehehe

I hope the game does okay. I always loved the Mad Max universe and would love to see them explore the lore behind it.

Game doesn't look good at all. They can package the shit out of it, its still Mad Max the game.

Shitty Arkham Knight combat with shitty batmobile driving. Before you tell me that ripping off batman can produce a successful formula, to those I say Shadow of Zzzzzzz Mordor.

Lol you should be banned for this post

Yea, ban people for not liking this overrated pile of poo. Great idea man.

Also what is your favorite type of soda? Ban people that don't like it. Please ban them. All.

edit: NOT that I agree with what he said anyway, Fast 7 was pretty lame as well. Both Max Max and Fast 7 are garbage compared to John Wick or Kingsman.

I have a feeling this game is going to be a sleeper hit. It doesn't seem to garner much attention but everything I've seen and read about it suggests it's a game I'll find difficult to put down.

I wouldn't go that far, but it's always sad to see people tear something apart as if they had played it and it was terrible, when all they assume is it's a movie tie-in and have seen YouTube.

Personally, after speaking with friends who actually spent time with it at E3, I'm excited to try it. This special edition, however, doesn't look that appealing unless it's like only $10-20 more.

IMO it's going to go down as another Rage.
A crap game that went straight to the bargain bin.

While Rage did go straight to the bargain bin, it was hardly a crap game. Has some of the best gunplay of last gen and I loved the car combat. Story hinted at something awesome too, but was unfortunately even less than half-baked. Here's hoping they get another shot with Rage 2 after Doom is out.

Not likely? Have you gone mad sir?
At this rate MGSV is gonna rip Batman a new A hole in sales as well.
Why? Metal Gear games have had solid sales, but they aren't exactly blockbuster financial juggernauts or anything. Given the way Konami is acting lately, I wonder if Phantom Pain will even receive decent marketing.

I'm seeing a lot of talk in here about how MGSV will (undoutably) bury this game, or its status as a tie in, or that hilariously bad box art. That's all well and good but lets talk about something better.

Let's talk about how amazing it was to see Fury Road.

I'll start: very amazing.

Nice steelbook, but I think I will get the regular edition instead.

They ought to bundle the game with the movie blu-ray. It's been a while since we've seen that done in gaming. John Woo's Stranglehold was the last I suppose?

Why does the character look nothing like either hardy or Gibson???it feels very wrong....

That'll be because it's not a direct tie-in to either the Gibson or Hardy films.

I can't help but think an August release date would have been better for this. It's looking a little barren and I might have considered picking it up at release.
