Must be weird not be allowed to watch Mad Men, but then being allowed to touch yourself in a scene. Did her parents allow her to watch that scene? :lol
I don't remember her actually touching herself in that scene. Or they didn't show it.

of course they didn't technically show her shoving her hands down her pants, but that is what the entire scene implied. she was horny as fuck

no way that scene is appropriate for a child :lol

I can't imagine what sort of experience it be for her to watch it in 4 or 5 years when she's allowed to.

I suppose that's pretty common with child actors though; I think I remember reading about this (their parents not letting them watch the show or movie they were in) being the standard for horror films and the like.

She'll be in rehab in 5 years, so she'll have plenty of time to work through it there. Honestly, letting your kid be a child actor is right there with buying him crack or letting him sleep over at Michael Jackson's on the bad parent checklist.

that's a little melodramatic

she sounds like her parents are definitely watching that she isn't exposed to bad shit

Q: Do you think you'd act like Sally if your mom was like Betty and your dad was like Don?

A: I think Sally's actually much better than I would be, given her situation. Sally is really, really reserved. Divorce can be terribly stressful and confusing. Add to that an emotionally unresponsive mother and a physically absent father, I think Sally's actions are pretty tame. If I was experiencing Sally's situation, I would be a complete terror of a kid.

That's such a strange response. It sounds like someone looking back and trying to think of how they'd act as a kid.

Team Faye!

Since we're talking in purely superficial terms.... Team January! Id stab her seven ways from Sunday.

Yeah, the kid in The Shinning had no clue it was a horror film, Kubrick was apparently really protective of him. To make up for it he did abuse the shit out of the rest of the cast. :lol

So, just watched the latest episode. I thought it was fantastic! They managed to pack so much in to 45 minutes, and the episode was a great balance of character/plot development and comedic relief.

OK I didn't want to post in this thread again until I caught up with it but I've just finished watching "The Suitcase"
Holy Jesus Christ Sweet Mother of Mercy.
Wow.

WOW

There are no words. "Shut the Door. Have a Seat" was an incredible episode, but this one is completely in another league. I'm just speechless. This episode was simply perfection incarnate (well, sans Anna ghost, but that's a minor annoyance). Such an emotional roller-coaster. So many great scenes.
I have to cool off so maybe it will go away, but at the moment I feel as if this was the best ANYTHING I've ever seen. This includes all TV series and even movies. Maybe I'm exaggerating but I don't care. These 45 minutes for me moved Mad Men from an already incredible series to something even better. I lack the words to even try explaining it. It was just that good. Two more episodes and after that I'm going onto recommendation spree to make everyone watch it. Like, really. Now. Even if they get bored at the beginning (well, it is a slow show, especially before you get into it) I will make them push on, even if only to see this episode. It's so incredible, so beautiful. There are some episodes that stand out, but this one is the most memorable episode of any show ever.
Matthew Weiner is a genius. That's all I wanted to say.

Don and Peggy get into a fight, Peggy cries.
They eat some food or something
Someone dies, Don cries.
Then some retarded looking ghost appears
Peggy and Don touch hands - then he tells her to leave his door open so the whole office can hear him rocking out to Simon and Garfunkel.

Worst episode of anything ever. I can literally name 10 LOST episodes that were better. It was even worse than that episode of Breaking Bad about the fly.

It's weeks later and I still agree with this.
I'm just scared of what is yet to come. If the trend if to be kept, season finale will make me kill myself, knowing that I will never ever be able to reach such perfection

Nothing is worse than that episode. There are rapes that are easier to watch than that shit.

Says the guy who's allergic to words and pictures on the same page. Pardon me if I take your opinion with a grain of salt the size of the Golden Gate Bridge.

:lol

i was starting to suspect that you were a joke character

Please don't spoil The Fly episode. Some of us aren't up to that yet.
There's literally no way anyone could spoil it for you other than telling you the title of the episode. It's the greatest non-Mad Men hour of nothing happening that television has ever seen.

I believe just a couple of pages ago Dave praised The Suitcase as one of his top 5 favourite episodes so yeah, it's quite probable he is just joking :p

And pleaase, no discussions about Breaking Bad here, that's what I'm planning to watch once Mad Men S04 ends :(

Yes, I just got my season 2 disc 2 from Netflix, I'd never not get spoiled in the Mad Men thread
but yeah, Suitcase was probably the best episode of the season. I guess people on the innernet will bitch about anything.

oh fuck Scientology?

that kind of ruins it for me.

I was being satirical. It's a fantastic episode that's become sort of a litmus test for people who like Breaking Bad on GAF.

how clever of you.

Just rewatched the scene with Blankenship being wheeled away. So awesome :lol For some reason I totally missed it the first time because I was focusing on the conversation going on in the meeting instead.

I think he's got the right look for it and if he pulls it off it could boost his career a bit. That said, please don't bring Mel Gibson into my Mad Men...

In some roundtable, Weiner said he expressly casted people with relatively unrecognizable faces. Mel Gibson doesn't really fit that criteria.

It would be really interesting though :lol

I wouldn't mind either, if it's good then who cares?

Anyways, Jon Hamm was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson yesterday.. Not sure if it's okay to link here, but it's easily findable on Youtube.

Yeah, haven't seen the show yet and anytime I see mention of BB I just stop reading the thread out of fear something's gonna get spoiled.
