Magic Duels |OT| Magic The Hearthstonening [Update Support Ending]

Just wanted to say I tried this on iOS and it was very clunky to me. It is streamlined in all the wrong ways and if this is the answer to Hearthstone, from a play and UI design they still do not get it.

It says a lot about the greatness of Magic, that year after year, we put up with the utter incompetence of WotC's digital division. I, to my own detriment, once again eagerly await the games release (XBO) while the publisher does nothing to even attempt to communicate with its fanbase, to pass along a simple update. Disgusting.

I feel slightly like a monster for playing blue/black with Sphinx's Tutelage as the only win condition in a game for "new" players.

I gave up on this game when after I beat the entire story I still couldn't figure out how to make the ui pick cards I wanted etc in certain mechanic situations.

So instead I just play some paper with the wife. I'll jump back on someday I'm sure but only if the devs patch it enough to warrant more time from me.

Play enough single player in this and you will know exactly what the AI is going to pull out to even up the board state somewhat. Also, I've been playing the game for years and years. I have very rarely drawn 10 lands in a row, but in Duels (and DotP) it's a thing that happens regularly. I'm happy that the AI isn't brain dead this time around, but it's definitely got that old-school racer rubber banding feel to it.

I played a few games on my iPhone 6 this morning for the first time. It's basically unplayable if you haven't memorized all the cards (fortunately I have). Text is smaller than tiny and essential information, like graveyards, are not even on the default screen.

Well paper magic never has been delayed as far as I can tell, or as buggy.

It just smells better overall to play the digital version, unless you personally need a shower.

This is getting to be so mishandled that it's funny.

I don't know what else they could do wrong, short of actively insulting their players.

When you launch the game it just tells you the nearest location near you where you can buy paper magic cards and then it deletes itself.

Doesn't it pretty much do that already and then punch you in the balls while saying "Thanks for the $10bux" like previous years?

I started a bit on the iphone version, beat the first 2 story campaigns. I don't like playing on that though, nice to see PC is up.

Still though, no global accounts is whack.

Yep, it is a huge issue for me. I really like being able to play hearthstone on the go and if I want to make a deck I can do it from my PC.

Kind of weird to have to go through a third party site to actually see the game up on Steam. Ah well, gonna try downloading it anyway.

Seems to be working ok on my office computer, although it doesn't run particularly well in a window. Here's hoping my progress carries over when I get home, and I don't have to redo those insufferable "skill quests."

It was a mistake to pick Hearthstone back up while I waited for this. All I can think about is how slow and clunky this UI is.
