As a huge Xbox fan, this almost kills the entire deal for me. I have loved my 360 like no other console, but MS is really pushing me away hard. I am just a few clicks away from cancelling my pre order. When I hear "We expected backlash" It makes my blood boil.
What kind of an answer is that? Either you respect your customers or you don't.
I'm really pissed.
I have a PS4 on reserve too. I always knew it wasn't going to be both systems at launch for me, and with each passing day, It appears I will only own a PS4.
I want a game machine, that will give me online MP experiences. I don't care about all this other BS.

You either didn't play anything demanding or you had like 10 fans in your case.

Most of what I play maxes out my GPU, I overclocked both the core and memory significantly and outside of my CPU cooler, my fans are honestly less than ideal. GDDR5 runs hotter than DDR3, but it's still not something you will ever really sweat the temps on. Now, that's in a half-assed rig cobbled together with terrible wire management and mishaps, in a set top box made by someone who knows what they're doing I'd imagine it's even less of a concern.
Point being: LOL UR RAM IS 2 HOT is one of the more awkward things I've heard from these little hardware maker skirmishes.

If they had just stopped 'saying' stuff after E3, eventually interest and attention would die down in what they HAD said. Instead they keep stoking the fire.
if he does a decent job at his other PR responsibilities hes probably pulling in a large chunk of money but yeah, all the stuff hes been spewing sounds pretty bad lately

No it isn't. Google and Bing tailor results to your region and profile, so you might get a different result but I've had someone from NA confirm to me they get the same one.
I also get a variation on that.

That's what I got. I didn't realize I had to quantify it with adding "the". Seems kinda weird that you have to. It can't even find "the PlayStation 4 is " on Bing or Google when you add "the" to the front.
Interesting, I just tried and no suggestions come up (down).
I added "the" and I'm in NA...

Meh, their draconian policies are the bigger issue.
The hot take on the situation is saying their messaging hasn't been good enough, but I'd say they've done everything they could to attempt to spin the situation as positive.
The fact remains that their policies are just awful. No amount of spin is going to fix that.

Yeah, that too - they keep harping on about the benefits of their always-online policy but have so far failed to actually communicate any. I guess they don't have much positive stuff to sell, as you say. Better to just obfuscate the truth with PR bullshit. Seems to be their MO since E3.

Not to agree about what Major Nelson supposedly said about PS4 ram, but I used to think that ram overheating is not a big deal until I have couple of my ram stick died from overheating.

I don't understand why Microsoft isn't trying to curb its employees in any way. Twitter support says one thing, Mattrick says another thing, then Hyrb contradicts them both with some ridiculously muddy PR crap.
These are the kind of rookie mistakes someone like the Ouya dev should be making, not a multi-billion dollar company. Then again, it is Microsoft. If they don't want all of this extremely detrimental misinformation flying around everywhere, they need to stop letting everybody at the company try to give "official" answers.
