Mandalorian and Grogu first clip

Wednesday's numbers. Obsession beats Mando by $1.4 million. Mando continue to drop below Solo. Fucking yikes, this might actually drop close to 70% this weekend. It's a safe bet at this point that Mandarin and Grok is going to be a flop and can be written off. Mind you, these two characters were supposedly the two most popular characters in the new Disney Era of this franchise. If Starfighter doesn't bring in the cash, Star Wars might actually be fucked for the foreseeable future. I can see them announcing more movies as they usually do, but I would bet that the studio at this point is waiting to see how Starfighter performs before making any actual commitments.

Like the originals had any substance lol
It's pure nostalgia, I can't help myself and laugh when I watch the originals again on how cringe it was

I think Starfighter will do much better. I thought the Mando show was mid and didn't bother past season 1. I have zero motivation to ever see this movie which my super Star Wars fan friend called "4 episodes stitched together". Starfighter has Gosling who is actually a worthy Harrison Ford stand-in, so I'm much more interested in that.

I'm hoping M&G does fairly well on D+ and Starfighter can carry on that banner. M&G doing poorly is more a condemnation of the abysmal S3 of Mando, DISASTER of The Acolyte, ho-hum of Ashoka, and most importantly, a TOTAL REJECTION of Rey and RoS and all that stuff. It's a bit of a slap to Pedro Pascal, I think, even though "he" was only in about 3 minutes of the film and I'm seeing more and more of the Wayne guy that normally wears the suit.

I'm sure the internet shrills will be saying that the lack of stronk females is why this isn't kicking down doors, but we all know that isn't the case.

Lucasarts is sweating that Starfighter marketing campaign though, how much to spend when you can't get any easy happy meal tie-ins? If it goes straight to D+ then you know Star Wars is dead. But I think they learned the same lesson Pixar did, and will course correct just like they did and shuffle the DEI off to the side and get back to core audience appeal.

I don't think Starfighter will do well, as it is a standalone taking place after the horrific sequel trilogy, and I don't think Gosling has the star power to carry a movie.
While not tied directly to the Rey trilogy, it's going to still have the baggage and uninteresting characters around that timeline.

Their best hope is to genuinely market the movie as a sequel to Project Hail Mary. People are dumb enough to fall for it.

Hmm, maybe they don't make any important mention to the sequel trilogy in Starfighter. I mean, what kind of background do they need in the first place? It will be a story in the New Republic and they can tell any mission against empire remnants without mentioning nothing about Rey and her friends, fake Luke or Palpatine. They can still screw up, of course. We'll see...

Meanwhile...just read X-Wing novels and comic book series. Just in case.

This is what Star Wars fans want, and the internet harpies that have infected Lucasarts would complain about damn near every character in it.

Grew up reading those. I prefer the Wraith Squadion books in that series but the whole series was fantastic
