Read some Fukumoto stuff. Kaiji, Buraiden Gai, Gambling Emperor Zero. Great stuff if you like mind games.
I guess Psyren is out of the question.....
Each part of the Kaiji manga corresponds to one season of the anime right? So if I skip the first two parts and jump directly to the third one, will I miss anything?
I think I will read Buraiden Gai first since it's finished and fully translated.

Yep, you can jump right to the third one, but it isn't fully translated and it's mostly mahjong. I wish they would hurry up with translations because apparently the 4th one is crazy.

Plus Illumi's look was fucking crazy and i wonder why does he care that much about Killua (its kinda heading to creepy territory imo).

Easily the best "weekly of the week" again. I'm really interested in seeing how things will play out in the elections now that the candidates have narrowed. I honestly don't think any of the Zodiac Twelve members will become the new Chairman, and I seriously doubt Leorio will be winning. So that only leaves a few candidates out of the remaining 16, but I'll wait before making more guesses.
I have a feeling Hisoka and Illumi won't be allies after this mission. 4 more chapters to go until...

Really fantastic chapter. The tension, the twists, even the massive amount of texts actually worked in its favor.

From when the truck came in to the rest of the chapter I had my eyes glued.
At this point I can't really say who will be chairman because I'm just waiting for the two incidents to start connecting (Alluka and Election).
It could even be any one of the previously-unknown hunters: it won't be the first time Togashi did something similar. He loves to end arcs in a casually retrospective POV, and no matter how huge the events will become, he can just say "oh and this guy became chairman" and it could be virtually anyone. As long as the events themselves concluded everything which they probably will.
Oh and Illumi realizing Killua's hiding rules was easily the best part. Holy shit that was good.

It'll REALLY slow down when Togashi stops writing it and starts playing video games, or sleeping til 12, or whatever it is he does during the vast majority of the year when he's not writing HxH.
Should hiatuses really be included when talking about pacing? They don't really have anything to do with it. If anything they might make the pacing faster.

I disagree. Even though I read it in bulk, the second half of the ant arc dragged a lot for me.

I'm kinda lost on where this is discussion is going but if you're trying to say the reason why the ant arc dragged was because of the hiatuses, then why are we in the middle of the hiatuses right now and it's not dragging?
The invasion was really long but that was the first time Togashi tried narrating an entire climax using boxes (since it wouldn't have been comprehensible otherwise). Looking at it now it seems like one of the big reasons why it was so long.
