Unless ofc each dev at bungie is willing to take cut to their salary at same %age the game is making less cash, aka 88k ccu at launch in march, now barely 10k so 80% cut in june vs every1s feb salary, that would make studio survive but obviously no dev gonna take responsibility for their terrible product

You legit must not be a man… Do you not like Challenges? The reason why video games aren't movies is to be active and to challenge you. That's why gaming is typically a male dominated field when females started coming into the dev gaming spaces is when single player games actually started getting easy outside of the old school movie games most games didn't give you a map and tell you where to go you had to figure it out.

Challenging and losing time are two different things.

Been there for it all, every game that is considered "challenging" I guarantee I played it and or most likely finished it, I been at this all for 45 years

I still think D3 or the IP will continue. With or without Bungie.

It's not a secret that Bungie's management sucks. Right now, they have Marathon. Before they even focus on a D3, which is a massive $$$ sink, they need to start bringing in money. If Sony can salvage the game, it can pay the bills. Business wise, Sony wants it to pay for itself instead of investing more money.

IMO Destiny needs a CoD type of game management. 3+ studios working on it and releasing major updates alternating years. Can't rely just on one mismanaged studio in Bungie. Maybe they' can be the 'main' guys moving forward but to support a game like this they need a lot of help. Activision did it for a bit with 2 other studios and it actually worked out pretty well. Call of Duty has 10+ studios working on it.

It all comes down to Sony and how they want to handle it. Right now, it's just my opinion.... They want to try and get Marathon to a point where it can pay for itself and also mitigate d3 costs. Is that possible? yes. Is it likely? Who knows at this point, but they're in a deep hole... . infusing Destiny type of PvE into Marathon- campaign, end game for casuals ( strikes/raids/dungeons) , more pve depth will go a long way in building a player base though imo. If Marathon fails, I still think the Destiny IP continues, with or without Bungie.

A FROMSoftware, Destiny prequel in the dark-age after the collapse... I'm there for it.

You're more likely to get Destiny: Hunters, tbh.

I'll break it down... Trials in Destiny, at one time one of the most challenging pvp modes going. It took some serious fucking balls to get to the lighthouse, but getting there led to the awesome loot and rewards and made the frustration and challenge worth it.

Flip to Marathon, you go thru the same back breaking challenge, frustrations... Get your gear BUT THEN you can in a swoop lose it all in the next match or seasonal wipe rolls in and takes it all away.

FUCK that noise... Ain't got time for that shit. When I am faced with a challenge I'm fine with that, I love it... But some arbitrary game mode where fuckers don't mind losing their shit is not something I need or want, that isn't challenge that's just stupid but that's just imo. Give me challenge, but I achieve said challenge nobody taking my shit away.

It's now at 10.7k. Maybe it zooms up after dinner to 11-12k.

Looks like it reached 11k after all. Game was trending low in the morning, but a combo of 24/7 Cryo Ranked going forward and US Memorial Day tomorrow helped perk up the CCU instead of the historical Sunday tank. It was tracking to about 9.5k, but peak actually ended at 11k where USA peak was the final peak this time. In the past Euro 4 pm est would be peak CCU.

Also, Steam ratings still dropping like a rock. Dropped below 83%.

All time peak was launch day 88.3k. Today's peak at 11k is -77.3k or -88%

Today vs yesterday: 11k vs 11.4k (-0.4k or -3.5%)

Yesterday's low 4.6k. If the rate holds, low tonight will be 4.4k

Sun vs Sun: 11k vs 11k (flat). Trending lately is about -5 to -15% since early May

I kept in yesterdays numbers to show how flat Marathon is, basically a handful of players difference between Saturday and Sunday, whereas D2 found further growth as it continues to track higher.

Marathon is clinging so hard on to that 100K DAU midpoint value right now.

Americans being able to contribute to the Euro peak but Euros (usually) being unable to stay up to contribute to the US peak is what causes the normal Sunday pattern. Euro holidays allowed Euros to instead keep contributing to the US peak, like a Saturday.
