Marathon |OT| A Shell of its Former Self.

I heard about the State of Play date and then I kept thinking to myself, "wasn't something important happening on June 2nd?! What was it?!"

Wait for the forums toys to get chucked out of the pram when this comes up. Probably only a trailer as the reveal the season 2 is next week.

I'm enjoying blasting the waves of UESC that spawn in. The maps definitely feel more alive now which is good. Had some good fights and not so good fights. Everyone is bloodthirsty right now haha.

I'd like to see this get ramped up as the season progresses. Clearly can't have they way things are right now throughout the season as loot would become meaningless but say have double xp weekends with added difficultly and events added as the season evolves would be sweet.

Its not just you, almost every random crew fill i played with over the last day or two are complaining about it. Even those coming in full purple kits. Something stinks in this game right now. People taking full clips of damage from multiple people running around laughing on prox chat knifing everyone down while getting shot non stop. Ive run with randos in which one kept saying follow me I'll eat the damage they cant kill me... they ran through grenades shotguns everything and never died. A few days ago I played with a couple guys that would spawn in run exactly to where quiet enemy teams were away from the spawns and wipe them laughing and exfil once the lobby was dead. People are 1000% not playing fair right now. And im experiencing more toxic chat behavior than warzone lobbies. Ive had a lot of fun with this game even though it was a bit rough early on but the end of the season has been absolutely awful.

I will add i believe Bungie has a similar problem to warzone with cheaters... they say they will ban people but they are too afraid of losing what little playerbase they currently have so they are turning a blind eye and allowing it to happen.

This was it last night. I emptied a full lmg clip into a guy and he just ate it all and knifed me.
 
After todays D2 news, looks like all hands on deck for this game boys.

Most likely. I mean im pretty sure most of the Bungie staff is gonna work on marathon full time after june. Their next game which will be D3 is not even in the preproduction phase, that doesnt need many devs at all

I almost had nothing left then i went and did a few rook runs on Perimeter yesterday to pass some time and I have almost more now than any point in the season lol. Even if you just run straight for the exfil you get around 5k or just head towards the warden spawn via key rooms late on and it's like Christmas.

Going to see how much money I can amass next season, been very frivolous this time around.

I mean at this point Marathon matches play like Halo:ODSTs open map-sandbox and simply building up the variety of enemies and events does so much to buffer the "player hunting player" swings of a run.

I really think it should end up as dedicated track of story content/scenarios in a season over just "make a PvE switch plzzzzzz".
 
I empathize with D2 fans who are watching a game they enjoy be sacrificed in favor of chasing a new audience. It's nice to have been on the side being catered to for the first time in decades. I don't see it happening again.
