Doesn't matter, all of the options A, B, C and D would be amazing if executed well, and, to be frank, if there's one thing Nintendo knows how to pull off, it's 3D Mario games.
Neither. I'd much rather see a new direction or a return to 64 formula, evolved thanks to the possibilities offered by modern hardware. But if i have to choose between these two, Galaxy 3.
The thing I like about 3D Mario is that I honestly have no idea where they'll take the franchise and what new features they'll implement. Every 3D mario is unique and there certainly isn;t anything mechanically recyled about them, so I'd rather they avoid sequels and shock us ith games as different as Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy.
I would rather they ditch co-op in 3D Mario though.
Moveset of 64 with levels that actually require it (unlike 64), level design of the Galaxy games, difficulty of Sunshine secret levels/Galaxy and 3D post game content, new aesthetic/conceit.
3D World is really good, but Galaxy is a masterpiece.
That being said, Galaxy doesn't look very Mario-y. Making a new Galaxy game with Rosalina as the protagonist could allow for new ideas and would not limit the game idea wise.
They've done enough with the Mario 3D formula, I feel. A full blow sequel with multiplayer on more powerful hardware.
I'd like the to continue the Mario series allowing it to evolve.
But I also want more Galaxy games so Rosalina Universe/Galaxy is what I want to see eventually. Solves a lot of issues for them too
Larger scale and more open like Mario 64/Sunshine. It's time for one of those again. I guess Mario 64-2 is the closest to what I want. I'd like the world to be seamless though.
I've been publicly promoting my idea to Nintendo for years, Super Mario Brooklyn. When the mushroom kingdom invades Brooklyn, only Mario and Luigi can save their hometown. Maybe Mario can butt-stomp on some hipsters while he is at it. (Galaxy style game play please)
I guess because I suck at the game, and never played it as a kid, I don't get the fascination behind mario 64's slippery controls. I'm aware there are a lot more nuanced things you can do in that game but to me Galaxy felt a lot better.
Something new. D. I'm ready for a new direction for the 3D Mario series. I thought 3D World, before they announced it, would be a new concept based on a light and dark world with the dual screens.
I feel Galaxy 3 will offer more opportunities for more variety in good small sized chunks, but if they could do it, I'll go with D. (I can't imagine how they are going to do D)
We'd already gotten Galaxy sequel and it turned out to be the perfect game, one of the best (if not The best) games ever, but Mario needs a change every couple of years.
But if I'm restricted to the options in OP than Galaxy 3. With more horsepower and HD graphics to work with the Galaxy level design can be more ambitious and expanded upon.
